Really weird world generation- Endless Plains

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version:Tekkit v3.04

os: linux CentOS 5 64bit

java: JRE 7u1(i guess it is 64 bit)

Description of Problem: It generates a 16x16 chunk fine on first generation, but after that, its just an endless plain

Error Messages:

doesnt show up anymore, but i had that

2012-06-06 20:28:32 [iNFO] Skipping TileEntity with id tctcrystalore

Link to pastebin of log: http://pastebin.com/SUKRgTbn

the 3 first pics are related to this

It happens on every single world i generate, which is kinda annoying. I removed tekkit to see if it was the minecraft server jar that was doing it and it wasnt. I tried reinstalling tekkit and still no success.

I tried the 3.0.3 jar but it gave me an id error for the same block(@different addresses)

Not necessarily. Actions that it lists have been completed. The biome generation happens after the strongholds. Have you deleted .techniclauncher and tried again? I know, drastic, but it happens to work most times.

read posts a little earlier, im not the only one

also, im not much concerned about the fix, but about what causes the bug

Oh and an endless plains map is an awesome challenge(no trees)

As for what causes the bug, it seems like you've already found out. Multi-world plugins must not work very well with Tekkit. I simply don't use them. After all, one world is practically infinite. Chunkloaders and warps are your friends. :)

not when you have a separate creative world....

but yeah i cant complain its the only solution we've found so far

"enfantcool: to get rid of infinite plains i would have to move the arena and redwar into the world

enfantcool: and get rid of creative

it does it on all worlds sadly

(except nether and the end)

even flat worlds(weirdly...trees generate, colors of the terrain change but not the shape)

Huh. Well, sorry 'bout that. I guess if you were really desperate, you could generate worlds in singleplayer and copy them over. Bukkit would automatically convert them.
