Hello griefer. Vista causes a boatload of similar problems to yours. But redownloading the launcher can sometimes prove successful. If not, then you are running the wrong bit of Java, which you failed to specify.

I sense a PEBCAK error here fushaw. Go and check you can login on minceraft.net and get it to send you a verification email anyway.

You heard wrong. Your problem was probably antivirus. Don't give advice on things you do not understand.
