Yeah, but a decent graphics card lets you play new games at high settings, and is a much better investment as it will play future gaes better. And "used properly" implies a lot more complicated process than "find a spare PCI slot, plug in, turn on".
EDITT: isn't an M a mobile chip anyway? 630M or better is the way to go for new laptops.

I like how some servers restrict EE2 items to make it fair, f.e Mk1 collectors and relays, a couple of the rings are gone (void I think? I don't really know the rings), destruction catalyst modified to obey towny rules etc.
I like IC2 as it was the first mod I learnt how to play with, and just the general tongue in cheek humour of the wiki is funny as well. EE3 with the red liquid that burns you (check out the Minecraft Forums interview with Pahimar a few months back for decent details) looks like it's gonna be a better mod than build a collector, have diamond block mansion in 2 hours.
A bit annoyed the catalyst is going, but oh well.

Use 7Zip/WinRAR to open the EE2blahblah.jar in the mods folder and delete the forestry folder inside. This happens because EE uses an outdated Forestry API.
Failing that, make sure you got MC1.2.5 and BC2.2.x version from the forestry site.
Failing that, I don't know.

No, it is Not Enough Items. Too Many ITems is similar, but doesn't have the recipes feature. If you bothered to read stickies you would know that :P

I'm sorry, but that's a actually very bad hardware. Try to allocate only 2 GB either. The processor is okay, but the video card is pretty terrible, if you don't have any way to get a better one, I can't see a solution to this problem.
It's not even a card, it's an integrated chip on the processor. No wonder it's so bad, the 4000 is better anyway (but still worse than any graphics card on the market)
A Nvidia geforce 610 will probably do, and thats £30. If you want something decent, a 650ti or above is good. The yogscast themselves use 670's, and if you have £800-900 spare, get a 690 :D

Bearing in mind it looks like spout is playing up, I'd reinstall technic completely nuking the .techniclauncher folder and using the mac version of the launcher IN Mac OS, and if that doesnt work perhaps search the spoutcraft forums to see if theres any similar problems and/or fixes :)

When tekkit reaches 1.3 and all mods have to be SMP, The thaumcraft author said he will replace thaumcraft with arcanacraft :)

Can you guys find me a Tekkit server that is for PIRATED useres with no whitelist? The server can be whitelisted, if I do not have to pay more than five bucks.

Some people aren't super tech savvy. They are probably people who just want to play a game with friends but have never touched the actual components of a computer. And google sometimes doesn't help. Hell, I didn't know how to port forward for a good year after I got a router and that's without asking for help, not knowing what I'm doing, and using Google. It's like looking a an engine for a car or a plane with no prior knowledge of anything to do with it. You would be completely lost and wouldn't know where to start. Rather than getting aggravated with them, tell them what to do so they can then pass their knowledge on and so forth.
But the majority of the problems here could have been solved by a 30 second google search?

where exactly is located that config on *****server.jar? Bcs there is only one file called "hints" and thats all. Or if I just do it on client config i am not going to find these on server?
I didnt really understand what you just said due to grammar and all, but I dont play on Tekkit servers because SGTekkit (sct's server) was as laggy as hell, 1 tick per 2 seconds
I still don't understand what sct has done to be part of the Tekkit team, I mean he had a laggy server and probably put the XenForo on the website, big woop ! :/Nerdy rant over, I cant help you with anything to do with servers. sorry :(

Im having the same problem as all of you i need assistence finding the NEI.dat in the .tekkitlauncher but i can find the .tekkitlauncher at all
Its in the Common Problems and Solutions thread stickied at the top of every goddamn page in the forums. Use it, thats what it there for.
EDIT: in fact, i put the location 3 posts above this one! hit start, type run, press enter, type %appdata%, hit enter, go to .techniclauncher, go to tekkit, go to saves.

Considering there is no TMI in the modpack it's quite expected.
Switch NEI from utility/recipe mode to cheating and it should work just fine. If not then screenshot of your game with inventory opened would help diagnose the problem.
You have to change the lock_recipe_mode line to false in NEI.cfg as well don't you?

*bump* I've seen similar threads, but the people there are all using mojang.com accounts, while I haven't got round to migrating my account to mojang.com, its still a minecraft.net account. Also, the problem is only on my current computer, it shows my skin on all the other computers i have in the house.

I had a problem with NEI on Tekkit. The "r" and "u" functions worked fine, but the list and search bar was completely gone. I pressed "o" to no effect, deleted my cache several times, and couldn't seem to get the list back. (This is on a multiplayer Tekkit server where "recipe mode" is allowed. I seemed to be the only one there without the list and search bar, and I'd already done a number of attempts to fix it with help from one of the server moderators. After several tries, including uninstalling, and reinstalling the technic launcher, NEI still continued to malfunction in Tekkit alone. Can someone help?! It's preventing me from playing on my server!
Delete NEI.dat in your saves folder in appdata\.techniclauncher\tekkit\saves. It will make a new file when you next log in tekkit, and your saves will be unaffected.
Failing that, try changing your GUI size. Ccould be a resolution issue, especially if you set it to auto.

My tekkit doesn't update without saying "OMG LAYK TEKKIT HAZ UPDATE, Y U NO INSTALL OH MA DAYZ" and then there's probably plenty of ways on google to get your achievements back :)
