It's always a balancing act of trust, considering any mod can access any file on your hard drive that you can access and can upload that file anywhere on the internet at will. Or can even change those files. Better hope your AV has some damned good heuristics.

Can't seem to get it to work. Which mod does Technic take it's ore textures from? I assumed it was RP2, but no luck.
i think the forestry ones are disabled, so it uses the ic2 textures.

Personally, I'd like to just edit my favorite items to look like something else. Like the sapphire sword. It's just so... Plain! And also the bronze armor. Also plain. Those two things I would love to edit! If it's possible. I'd love to edit those things. :B

SMP and I are ~super bros~. He himself doesn't want to take on Buildcraft/RedPower/etc, although he gave us some textures he was doing for something else to be used for Buildcraft. It's just a time sink from what he tells me, which is why ColTim and I have modified and added stuff to this to make it Technic. ColTim has done 99% of the work, I did some tools and buildcraft stuff is all.
SMP is cool with this, its just he didn't want to pour any time into any mods since they can rise and fall in an instant.

I thought the creator of the pack said he wasnt going to work on mods though?
Either way, thank you for this! i was trying to edit a few textures myself, but i failed miserably :(

SMP has given me some unreleased material to use, so I have a sort of proto-SMP texture pack thing made using those textures he's provided. He's ok'd me to release it as well, so here you go! Note this is NOT complete.

SMP technic edit I believe. I can't wait until we get rid of those awful screenshot backgrounds.

Not entirely sure if this is the correct place to post this, please correct me if this is the case.
But anyways, when the launcher opens it shows a background where there is redpower lamps displayed with non-vanilla textures. could anyone tell me what the texture pack being used is?

i have 4gb how much should i allocate? atm i have 1 gb allocated and it always crashes around half 5 if i start at 3 o'clock.

Ive tried nuking my .techniclauncher and my .minecraft folder. reinstalled rthem both. open up launcher. same 3 second problem :(

Well its never thrown any problems at minecraft, or anything really! Its pretty good behaved, it only threw a hissy fit for tekkit 3 as "only a few norton users have downloaded it so it must be a trojan so lets kick its ass" xD im gonna try and get avast when the sub runs out though :)
