  1. Server Update: Paradigne has welcomed 7 or 8 stable players as of last week! It seems technic is becoming more and more popular, so kudos to this wonderful team of hard-working individuals! I'm growing more and more excited by this spike in uptake - last year we would have never hoped to have had such a positive response to a single forum post.
  2. So far a few applications have been received by our administration, welcome all whom have applied! New Years Eve is upon us, so many of us are busy in the real world today... but that being said we are certainly still looking for additional members! Check us out, and apply if you like what you see!
  3. I am currently looking for a few mature players to join me on my server. My server has been up and running with a myriad of mods/plugins since Minecraft's Alpha, and the time-tested modpack is extremely stable and fully-featured. I've never seen anyone else attempt a modpack quite like this one, as it maintains a survival experiance and has zero game-ending features (such as quarries, Equivilent Exchange, invulnerable armor, super-powerful magic, etc.) that override other features. The core concept is to never get bored in Paradigne, and to never reach a point where the game is trivial. I work a full-time job, so I haven't had a chance to keep my community healthy. We've had up to 50 players at one point, but over the years this has died down since many players moved on from Minecraft. Custom modpacks are also prettty difficult to get players into - it was WAY easier when we ran Tekkit Classic years ago. I am now hoping to get a few more interested if they are willing to brave a new modpack! Sign up on our website, or simply log in and take a look around. -LucidLethargy General Server Information: Type: 24/7 Professionally Hosted Server (multiple server locations worldwide) IP Address: play.paradigne.com (this IP comes pre-configured into the modpack) Slots: 20 for now, but willing to upgrade any time Modpack: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/paradignepack Server Rules & Guidelines ("Laws"): http://www.paradigne.com/rules-laws The type of players we want: Mature, fun-loving players This server is an open server for the moment (no whitelist, no graylist... play right away), however ignorance is not a tolerable excuse for breaking our rules. If you refuse to register, and you break a rule and get banned, you cannot simply state that you were never told the rules... unregistered players play at their own risk, and should know the rules and laws if they intend to continue playing with us.
  4. Are any other pack admins wondering where their changelog went? I had a very in-depth changelog detailing the entire history of my modpack, and now it's gone since the transition to the new website layout... I'd love to get this back as I don't have copies anywhere else. This was a neat history of everything I've ever done, so I took pride in reviewing it and showing everyone how frequently updates take place.
  5. I've made some massive updates to the server as of late - particualrly quite a few to the spawn area to help new players. I am eager to see if we can't expand out our community once again. We could use another mod or admin as well, as my full time job keeps my pretty busy. Pop in and say if hi if you'd like to check us out! We are quite friendly, even if there are only a few of us!
  6. I've edited this post slightly to better reflect some of the recent changes to the ParadignePack. We've had a few new members, but we could always use a few more. I am on vacation currently, but I do pop on every now and again throughout the day if anyone would like to check us out! Our moderators are fairly frequent players as well, although during the holiday season I think a lot of us are trying to get away from our computers a bit more haha.
  7. ------------------------------------------ Detailed Website www.paradigne.com (no ads, no donations) ----------------------------------------- Disclaimer: The below description is very wordy, you do not need to read it. You may check out our website for a much more basic overview if you are not interested in all the gritty details. FEATURES: Fully-featured server: With some of the best terrain generation mods at our disposal, Paradigne is a lush and expansive universe full of variety and opportunity. There are over 90 biomes in Paradigne, and the sky is not the limit - travel to new worlds with the construction of advanced rockets and/or mechanisms. Dive deep into an expansive ocean with dense kelp forests and coral reefs. In Paradigne, life exists at every turn. From the depths of the Nether, where new creatures lurk, to the oceans full to the brim with fish and sea-life, to the numerous biomes of the overworld, each filled with it's own unique creatures. Challenge yourself with everything from the simplest to the most complex contraption and machine and immerse yourself in a world of technology and choice. From batteries to nuclear reactors, from wireless redstone to advanced computers, from teleporting ring platforms to advanced elevator rails - Paradigne has entered the 21st century, and the proof is in the pudding. Check out our full Mod List for details! Professional, stable and time-tested server hosting & administration: Paradigne was founded on November 12th, 2010, and has been running with 99.99% up-time stability ever since. We have been running an MC server since pre-alpha on multiple platforms (hMod, Bukkit, Spout, and now Technic with Cauldron.) Paradigne is hosted off a professional, high-speed hosting service located in Los Angeles, CA. This is not your grandma's fresh-baked home PC solution, this is a robust solution for working adults who like to play Minecraft whenever the interest is sparked. Paradigne hosts powerful anti-griefing plugins to protect player-made objects from harm. The administration also backs up the server frequently as an extra safeguard. Paradigne has hosted hundreds of plugins over the years, and the administration is well versed with advanced problem solving when it comes to errors caused by plugins and mods alike. Mature, well-balanced survival mod pack: We do not have hundreds of mods like some servers, instead we have 28 high quality mods. We believe these are the very best the community has to offer, and we have tested a LOT of modpacks, and a LOT of mods. The mods used on our server are hand selected to not only work well with one another, but also to avoid the duplication of features when possible. Our goal is a highly intuitive and fully-featured Minecraft SMP experience. Mods are updated often, and new mods are added when they come to the attention and interest of the community. The Paradigne server is 100% survival multi-player (SMP), there are no exceptions for players or the administration. All structures are legitimately constructed, and cheating as well as exploitation of broken mechanics is strictly monitored and enforced. Nothing is free in Paradigne, it is mined, looted and built with the tools granted us by the mod pack. Violators are given a chance to defend themselves, but there is a zero-tolerance policy for this behavior (a life-long IP & account ban is standard practice.) Close-knit, mature community: Paradigne's history is rich with over a hundred highly creative, mature players. We pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere of players that are generally over 18. We host a smaller and more tight-knit community, and we prefer it stays this way (15 or so active players being a good goal to shoot for at this time.) PVP is allowed on our server, however there are strict guidelines to keep this experience enjoyable for all players on our server. These "rules and laws" are required reading for those looking to join, and essentially just make it clear harassing other players is not allowed. Intuitive NPC's and Quests: We now have intuitive NPCs that help liven up the server. While quests are still being developed, there is a rich story-driven plan ahead of us. NPCs also provide the following resources: Trade (we also use "Chest Shops" provided through Cauldron/Bukkit. ChestShops = Everyone, NPC Traders = Admins) Mercenary work (they are not free, you must pay them with our servers currency, which follows the gold standard) Information (Need to learn more about the server? Ask around!) Post Office / Mail system Guards (in large cities, guards patrol the area and keep you safe from threats) We are looking for a few mature players to join at this time, please feel free to log in and check us out and/or fill out our registration page in order to join us as a full member: To Visit: Not convinced? Need to see it to believe it? Come visit our server at play.paradigne.com (that's the server IP) as our guest! 8. Perhaps I'm in the minority here, but I like to build just as much as adventure - basically I'd like to see more content to mess around with! Exploring is fun, looting is fun, but eventually you have enough loot and the interest is more centered around building and creating your own stuff. Some more worlds are always welcome if you ask me, though. I'd LOVE to see more things to explore. Perhaps Mystcraft would be a really cool thing to add for small servers? Either way, Hexxit has a CRAZY amount of diversity any stuff in it, but alas... I want more!
  9. I am the admin of a public server, so I do want to disable certain mods simply to retain the survival feel for everyone. And that's interesting, I wonder if I will agree once I learn more about it... I'll check it out. For now I'll disable it one way or another, though. This way I can enable it at my own pace, once I've investigated it further. I find it quite strange nobody else has the nether issue I do... I'm running Tekkit 1.0.6 with bukkit via mcpc. Perhaps my mcpc version is causing it? No plugins I know of should be, but perhaps that's also a possibility... it's pretty weird either way - I've never seen over a million blocks on the coords before haha. I may need to delete the land I generated... may cause issues.
  10. So because the Technic team decided to name their latest modpack "Tekkit", the same name the original (now Tekkit "Classic") mod, I am unable to use google to find solutions to my questions... Simply put, my issue is that nether portals don't lead to the nether... instead they lead to exponentially further away areas of the map. After 3-4 portals you're out over a million blocks out from the spawn. So how does one get to the Nether in Tekkit? Many recipes require Nether materials, so this is really screwing me up... I've had to cheat in blocks and keep track of them all so I can burn them later (I take survival seriously on my server.) Also, as a secondary question: is it easy to turn mods off yet? Mods like EE3 I simply have no interest in... I'm not sure if much has changed here since EE2, but EE2 was the cheapest thing I've ever seen... less survival and more "build this stuff for a few hours, then you can make anything you want for free!" If I wanted unlimited free blocks, I'd play creative! Definitely ruins the game for me, anyway, so if there's a means to disable mods apart from banning key items, I'd love to hear it! I haven't dug too deeply into the configs yet, but perhaps there is a means in there that's a simple "yes" or "no" toggle?
  11. So far this has worked PERFECTLY for my server in that it runs my maps on Tekkit Lite, thank you everyone who was/is involved in making this possible! I will try to help the project if I find anything out in my testing process I am now undertaking to confirm the conversion. I will note right now that metal posts from railcraft currently turn into turtles, though. This is not a huge problem, but it is certainly a giant reward for anyone who has a lot of posts down (also, my server bans turtles, and other servers may do the same, so these are a potential liability for those concerned with griefing unless Tekkit Lite and Bukkit now communicate better for anti-griefing protocols and triggers.)
  12. So if this cannot be provided, I am going to edit this post to include a list for other admins. I am currently switching over from Tekkit Classic to Tekkit lite now that I've learned A) Bukkit works on Tekkit Lite now, and Tekkit Classic worlds convert over to Tekkit Lite almost effortlessly with the right tool. The question is, does anyone have a comprehensive list of the ore/naturally spawned item ID's currently in use in Tekkit Lite? And when I say in use, I do mean the ore's/items that are used to make other items. Basically there are ore's that exist, yet are not used, so I'm looking for the ores that actually serve a purpose and can be found within the map in survival mode. I ask this because I have worlds being generated by Terrain Control, and as such I have a lot of copper, tin, silver, etc. that now needs to be converted to meet Tekkit Lite's new system. The good news here is that the mIDas gold tool will do this for both existing blocks, AND inventories, making conversion nearly effortless - but in order to accomplish this, and also set up future ore generation to spawn the correct ores, I need a list of the new ore types Tekkit Lite utilizes. Even better would be a list of changes between Classic and Lite, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. Here is a list made by someone listing conversions, but I am currently not sure how accurate it is. For all I know this is indeed the answer to my question, so if that ends up being the case I will post it on this thread in plain text, but it may also be that ores are being converted to random objects. I say this because other items are appearing in this way when using this tool - namely posts turning into turtles. I am very interested in any information anyone may have to help me with my search: http://goo.gl/hhdu8 If you are curious about the tool used to convert Classic to Lite, here is a link to that thread: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/how-to-convert-tekkit-classic-world-to-tekkit-lite.34915/
  13. Pardon my ignorance, but is MoCreatures possible without a client-side for SMP? In the past it's always required a specific client-side mod along with the server mod, but I'm sticking to vanilla Tekkit Lite right now for my servers rather than delving into a custom modpack. This being said, I've wanted MoCreatures for YEARS now on my server - is this a reality, or will I indeed need to wait and create a custom modpack?
  14. Quick question if you're willing to help with an answer (and I do apologize if this is obvious and I am missing it - I can't even download the files right now since I am at work and dropbox is blocked) but can you whitelist items, rather than blacklist? I would love to add tablets on to my server that simply transmute basic blocks alone (dirt, sand, obsidian, etc.) but blacklisting 95% or more of Tekkit's ID's could be a pretty daunting task! On a similar note, if this is not possible if anyone has a plain-text list somewhere of all these ID's that would be really helpful! Perhaps these are in the plugin files themselves, even?
  15. So I have no idea what LokiTheCat is talking about. First and foremost we have been running three different protection and rollback plugins since our launch, which is good because we have had to use all three of those tools in the last week. Furthermore, as our rules clearly state: if anyone violates the rules of engagement, you have a right to press charges. If you do not exercise this right, then the administration will likely not respond as over half the disputes that take place are between real life friends and/or family playing on our server (and in those situations they work things out amongst themselves without our intervention.) On to new developments: In the last week we have seen at least three people heavily exploit broken tekkit mechanics on our server to gain immense personal wealth. All three of these people have been banned after it was found that they were practicing these illegal methods (we also rolled back absolutely EVERYTHING that wasn't inhabited by another player and screened all inventories server-wide.) In response, all known patches to prevent duplications and exploits have now been applied and I am retroactively working on a custom patch to allow custom-blacklisted transmutation tablets (ore won't be able to come out of them, and neither will certain items be allowed to go in, such as blaze rods.) We also have a newly formed banned items list (we kept it as small as possible) as we have found it absolutely essential to ban certain items to preserve the grief-free fair and balanced gameplay Paradigne has known and loved for the past 26 months. You may view that list here: www.paradigne.com/banned. In short, this is a server for mature players looking for a fun place to build who are NOT willing to exploit game mechanics, or hack to get ahead. I will retroactively ban everyone who violates this very simple requirement. I am serious about keeping our server a legitimate survival server. It is for this reason that I believe Paradigne is an AMAZING server to play on. Everyone's hard work will be valued here as I will not allow cheaters to prosper. Come join us today and check us out! Do be aware we now have altered our "open" policy to a "greylist" policy, however. This means you will not be able to break or place blocks until you have signed up on our website. Signing up is easy, and it only takes a few minutes! Check out our registration page here: www.paradigne.com/register
