  1. Exactly! IC2 and RP are awesome and you can't have true Tekkit without them. Check out my thread where me and like 4 other people have a huge debate about this. It also talks about my own pack which is Tekkit Lite plus railcraft and forestry added back and a couple of other mods. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/tekkit-lite-the-way-it-should-have-been.51835/ Edit: My pack also includes optifine, damage indicators, bibliocraft, and icbm and will be updated again soon. It's like Tekkit Lite enhanced.
  2. Well Tekkit 1 wasn't part of "Tekkit Classic". I'm not sure why they separated Tekkit 2 and 3 since I could never care or tell the difference. I never did play Tekkit 1 but I did play Tekkit 2 and 3 a lot. Why shouldn't this "Tekkit Main" have a number? It is an "official" tekkit version like 1 2 and 3. You people seem to think "Tekkit Main" has a chance of updating to the newest MC version but it doesn't. I bet it'll just be abandon like the rest and be called Tekkit 4.

  4. The constant updates. Hoppers are cool but there are enough tekkit things to do it's job.
  5. I see what you're saying but none of that is a solid reason why it shouldn't be called Tekkit 4. It is the "main version of Tekkit", and before it was Tekkit 3 (which is now Tekkit Classic) so why shoudn't it be Tekkit 4?

  7. Yes, there is. Not only buildcraft chute, but also that one red-power machine (i forget its name its fairy common) and obsidian pipes. I'm sure there are a couple more. It's true. Notch: Improves the core game mechanics and develops it, codes slowly, taking time to his decisions, created minecraft by himself, has the best ideas for its future. Almost always has good improvements, but takes a while to do it. Jeb: Doesn't really improve the base game itselft, just throws more and more content on top of it. Most of this content is useless or peices from popular mods (done worse then them). Updates Minecraft so fast spamming new content that mod makers can't keep up. Is good when alongside Notch, but not on his own. Needs to take his time and fix bugs.
  8. Man I'll call it Tekkit 4 all I want because that's a good name and it makes sense. I thought you said they could be. WTF. Please explain why they, for some reason, wouldn't add them if they could. That is a sickening thought.

  10. It would be soooo easy without item and block ids. No ID conflicts ever. I can't wait to see what Tekkit will look like after this update. IT could have like 100 mods and they all work perfect. I can't wait until you can log onto a server with any mods on the serverside and then you can play on it. Like the client would download all the server's textures, settings and mods. So anyway... would you guys at least try my modpack and tell me if you like it? Be expecting an update in under 5 days to version 1.3. I'll add a few mods and fix some things. You can suggest some mods if you want. I just want feedback on my pack, regardless if you think "Tekkit 4" is better.
  11. Yes I kinda agree with what you're saying, but Tekkit 4 is just missing some of the mods I really like and that's why I'm not going to use it: simple. I really do hope IC2 and RP get updated so they can be added to the new Tekkit. But I am always going to miss railcraft. By updating/working on Tekkit Lite I mean just, for now, fixing bugs, changing configs, adding a few new mods, and such. But what other people are saying is true, that Tekkit Lite was an experiment and Tekkit 4 is basically Tekkit Lite. But since to Redpower, IC2, forestry, railcraft and such I don't really like it. It's kinds the modders fault. Modding API? Independent of Versions? NO MORE IDS? OHHHHH YEAAAH i've been waiting for this forever.
  12. I found galacticraft to be a bit disappointing, but it is a good idea and a good addition to tekkit. It was awesome, but I disagree with your points: 1. Tekkit Lite could have updated: The idea of it (hence the light) was to be for forge and for the newer version of minecraft mulitplayer. It was suppose to be the "new" tekkit. The replacer of Tekkit Classic to rule the new version and update a lot. Or at least it could of. Why did they do this to this poor poor pack. It was so good. 2. How was it "good" that it ended. 3. I know that, but it still has a big following. It has a huge following if you count the endless other user-packs that stemmed from it, including mine.
  13. Nothing, but not if that one Tekkit is bad, and already out of date with not signs of update. That was epic and inspiring. I hate FTB and all it stands for. Technic forever. WE WERE HERE FIRST. Tekkit Classic will be in our hearts forever. That doesn't change the fact that the new Tekkit isn't very good and Tekkit Lite was awesome and should of gotten worked on and updated. I can't wait until a day where the new tekkit, brandished with IC3 and RP4, and Buildcraft and over 100 more mods that all work together perfect. It is an inspiring thought.

  15. "new" Tekkit should be Tekkit 4 2. What are you trying to say? I'm saying Jeb is taking small pieces out of Tekkit mods and putting them in Vanilla which is a bad idea for many reasons. First, he does them worse then the modders. Second, they're not big enough to do anything. Third, if you want these things, just play Tekkit. 3. It's not an opinion that the three core mods have been ic2 and rp3 and buildcraft for a long time. And yes I know the core mods have changed in Tekkit 4 (i'll just call it that) because they threw out the old core ones for many reason's (yes i know they had too). Coudn't they have just stuck with Tekkit Lite, and made a stable 1.0 version. Who cares about updates to minecraft itself. Yes most of the old core mods features have been replaced, but I like veriatey in my modpack. In tekkit lite there are many ways to do one task and that's limited in Tekkit 4. The new mods are a change, but just don't cut in my opinion. And I know Jeb isn't really relavent because I got off-topic with the post talking to dwwojcik. And yes, IC2 update and RP3 update would be amazing. If they added that to Tekkit 4 I would use it probably. Well they already go buy the "put tons of love and care into a pack and make it good, only to throw it away" ideology.
  16. 1. Could you rephrase this i'm not understanding what you're trying to say. 2. Yeah for most regular people who just play vanilla, but not technic team, modders, modpacks, or people who use mods. 3. I understand, as I mentioned before, other mods such as those you listed have risen up. But some of these mods that have risen up are even in Tekkit Lite. Any i'm not ready to let go of ic2 and redpower, they're just too good and too big.They don't seem to encompase as much stuff as some of the newer mods. I love buildcraft, but honestly, it's just a companion to rp3 and ic2, especially with power converters. 1. Yeah its confusing and no I don't think people refer to it as Tekkit Main. Tekkit 4 sounds like a good name because that implies they'd make a Tekkit 5, and it's just a good name. If its suppost to be the main, updated version, then they did a SHIT job of it.
  17. 1. I don't agree at all. It's much easier to say "Tekkit" than "Tekkit Class" or "Tekkit Lite" while playing. Coudn't they have called it Tekkit 4? I just sounds so good. 2. I know it sucks. Fucking jeb updating too fast. Fuck jeb. 3. First of all, the classic 3 mods for tekkit are IC2, redpower, and buildcraft. Then there are many expansion to these that build off of them. The "new" tekkit removes 2/3. And buildcraft is like the least important one. Yes I do understand there are a couple of other mods that are rising up but nothing makes up for them. Second of all, Jeb just coppies mods and does a shitty job of it, taking bits and pieces of mods that the modders did better and slapping them in. Third, I can't wait until redpower and ic2 update (maybe even ic3 oohhhh) then they can make a good pack. Maybe even all the little expansion mods and add-ons people made for them.
  18. 1. Yes I agree Tekkit Lite was kind of a test in a sense, but a good one that made an awesome and stable pack. 2. I agree the "new" Tekkit is technically a refinement of Tekkit Lite, but: a. They took out a bunch of good mods, including some big core ones. b. It is developed and made for 1.5. But jeb and all his shitness is updating minecraft so fast. Tekkit will just not update and they will have to make a new pack if they want to upgrade to a new version. Basically, Tekkit is stuck on 1.5 and won't be upgraded and then it will be abandon just like tekkit lite. c. It has a terrible name. Seriously, just "Tekkit". Who knows if i'm talking about Tekkit Classic or Tekkit Lite. They couldn't of just called it Tekkit 4? 3. Minecraft should just put like a few months of good coding and bug fixing into one LTS stable minecraft update and keep it like that so that modders can have time to catch up and get used to one version, then modpacks could be good. 4. Because of all this, I feel like the community should adopt tekkit lite (like me) and then improve it and update it.
  19. I wish Tekkit lite would update, get buxfixes and new mods. It's like they didn't understand how much of a good pack they created and just ditched it. Why? It is soooo good, but not perfect. They could of made it perfect. Theres like a 10% chance they'll ever touch it again. There spending too much time on hexxit (which is good) and the "New" Tekkit (which is utter dog shit). That's why I made my own pack and will continue to update and improve it. Expect an update to it soon.
  20. The only thing that would make this pack better is some bugfixing, 1.6.2 update, and a few more mods. The it would be the most perfect pack yet. Although Minecraft and Updates make this impossible, it's nice to dream.
  21. 1. Ok sorry, how I think Tekkit Lite should be. 2. I know that it doesn't you're right that is an issue. Maybe I will remove it. On worse computers I get more FPS but on really good computers I get worse FPS. 3. I know Railcraft won't be in any packs so that's why I added I, durr. 4. I know its never going to be in tekkit, so thats why I added Forestry back too. 5. I know ICBM is a UE mod therefor you can't use all of it, but it does add some nice explosives you can use and crafted with UE. The part about war not being the intent is arguable.
  22. Over the course of tekkit and technic's development, a few good mods were lost, like forestry and railcraft. Tekkit lite is my favorite modpack of all time. But it does need a few more mods. This is why I have created my own pack that's adds like 5 or 6 mods such as forestry and railcraft back to the modpack. Also a couple of small mods I think should have been in it. This is how Tekkit Lite should have been: Mods in my pack: -------------------- Optifine Railcraft Forestry ICBM Bibliocraft Damage UI + All 79 mods in Tekkit Lite 0.6.5 --------------------- I update it every month or 2 and have a good description and change-log and i'm working on better art. I have the server files and pack files for the newest 2 version up for download in description. http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/enhanced-by-jarjacksn.24143 I would love feedback and ideas of mods to add. I am currently working on version 1.3 and version 1.2 is standard now. As far as I know everything works fine and about 10 people have regularly used it. By this time its been opened 312 times.
