Hi, anyone got an up to date youtube (or other) piece on this? I have spent a few hours trying not to make toxic waste and it seems impossible. thanks

tekkit 1.2.9e. with 1.2 (Atomic science) September 2014 - multiplayer on a RHEL7 Linux server. Some serious issues with this mod I suspect still. 1) On a single layer the output is 400K temperature and negligible useful output. So you need at least 2 reactor core layers/stacks (to get to 500k temperature and some useful output. 3 stacks of reactor core and you can run 600k and a decent output. But, 2) even with a redstone engine pumping into a void pipe and the core showing only 1L toxicity ie all but empty, it still dumps toxic waste frequently, ie every 30~60 seconds it spawns a toxic block. The pipes show pumping happening by the way. 3) toxic blocks can be generated 5 squares away maybe 6 (I was too busy dying and trying to get the source blocks to count). 4) One cooling rod wont control the reactor, so I put in 3 and it still wouldnt shut it down or control it. So once above 600k it stayed there spewing toxic blocks up to 5 blocks away, possibly 6, I died so many times it isnt funny (so much for hazmat suits). So either I am doing something seriously wrong, and after watching an hour or 2 of youtube and googling I cannot see what, my conclusion this is buggy and the fission reactor is best avoided right now. Now if someone can tell me what I am doing wrong, let me know please, thanks.

Hi, I have a multiplayer server running and have been playing for 2 weeks, not one village 1 despite searching far and wide. Generate structures is set to true and I have and one jungle temple. Sparse isnt the word, no sand ones. Its like the seed is extremely sparse? is that possible/ just unlucky or a bug?

Hi, I am playing voltz in Multiplayer, this is a new map so I have started again from scratch. In the last map I found that the Fission reactor required more uranium ore than I could mine to keep going. I also found that the same effect happened with the fusion reactor, ie more tin than I could mine and a horrendious quantity of coper to build. Ergo both these are a) too csotly to build and too time consuming to feed. So last time I ended up with 400~500 heat generators, Im lothe to repeat that but cant see anything else as low cost in my time. Am I missing anything better? Hydrogen looks expensive to build in components as well and no better? ie what is the "best" solution for zero maintenance and minimal materials? Solar panels are out as thats a big fat target for a nuke, or stealing if they are a bit smarter....no point. regards

I just dumped the world and started a new one, no copper etc, any ideas on how to fault find?
-
I ran a single player game and ores are fine, so it appears that the server is the issue.
-
I just downloaded a minecraft_server.jar of 2.0.4 and ran it on linux. I can connect to it fine but find that there is absolutely no copper, tin or platinium ores.... It looks like the ores look std vanilla minecraft only...any ideas? regards

Where do you place this library?
-
Ive downloaded the above server to my linux box and its running, however I cant connect as my client is to old. So how do I update the client to match the above please?
-
Think ive found the issue, its when using stone conducting pipes, changing them to gold conductive and they work fine, yet there is no large cyan bar inside the pipe to indicate its at a maximum, the power simply stops. This I think is a bug.

How to install Tekkit and Voltz in one modpack
gzcwnk replied to techetga's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
Forestry works with the present tekkit lite for minecraft 1.4.7, just throw the zip/jar into the mods folder, you go from 76 mods to 77 and it seems fine. The rest (adding voltz) I'm working on. -
For a Linux server just download the .zip. Pick a nice spot, say /voltz/ expand the zip with unzip Depending on the ram you have (I have 6gb) run java -Xmx5G -Xms512M -jar voltz.jar nogui from the command line. This should build the file structure, now stop the server, set up ops.txt and whitelist if you want exposure to the Internet. Beware you want a quad core 3ghz+ Intel CPU (intel i5 3570 price wise seems ideal) for this thing, the explosions eat CPU cycles.......so 3 or 4 players on a AMD 2x3000 CPU is pushing it...(which is what my server has)

Sadly I found the sound volume and video quality to be a bit too poor. making this a bit hard to follow...also possibly overly complex. Maybe split out into part 1 OS and part 2 the minecraft bit.
-
Hi, Thanks this is exactly what I want to do....the only Q is can remote clients auto-config when they join? or do ppl have to mod their client? I run a small server for my 14yr old son and his friends so most cant do "complex" things like adding stuff, so we just run voltz, but I love tekkit lite and voltz! so would like both....LOL...

i have no clue how to do the custom modpack stuff
gzcwnk replied to PieSappinMyCake's topic in Platform Pagoda
I agree on this not being an obvious install...like I cant find instructions until I happened to do a search and found this link. Maybe some sticky instructions or a line in the FAQ would be grand.
