  1. I saw that tekkit 3.1.2 released recently and I was just wondering if it was a client-side only update, or if servers needed to be updated as well? Also, if you updated to this version when prompted would you then not be able to join a server that hasn't yet updated to this version? (is it going to be mandatory soon, or is it already at that point) Thanks for any information, I'm trying to get a bead on things before I take action.

Greetings, for a long time I have been using an old map reader that's kind of obscure and that few know of (minutor); however, ever since the last update it fails to show me an updated picture of what the map looks like when I download the file. My question is, what is a good map reader that is simplistic, easy to use, and can show you an image through the .dat file of the map folder. (also one that doesn't require you to install a bunch of auxiliary programs or link to some other application online).
  3. wish I could tell ya, we have an OP who's good at that and he does all our world edit. You'll have to ask someone more knowledgeable than me about world edit, sorry.

There is only one other thing I can suggest (this is a long shot) there is a possibility that one of your blocks changed between versions or is no longer available (like forestry) so you might be able to go into world edit and delete your entities (this worked for us once, but two other times it did not). However, if the block is corrupted and already placed the only way I can think to clear it is to delete that section, but unfortunately I don't know if that's the problem. (just that your problem sounds similar to another one we had 4 months back)
  5. Yes, I believe it was during last spring break that it happened. I mostly just dealt with it before, but that was back when you could delete the picture after your temp ban ended. Now the picture is stuck there and there seems to be no way to remove it like you could before. If its something you all deem totally necessary I can deal with the whole "hellen keller" thing, but I would just like the picture removed so I can recruit without getting ignored. (I've been using the "white-list section, my server is called "5th Paradigm")
  6. Not sure if your having the same problem as me, but try tele-porting to other members of your server if their able to get on and you are not. I discovered that after the update certain chunks cause you to white screen when you go in them (but not all of them) Hope that helps,

  8. I've only just recently returned to the forums and it appears they have changed quite a bit around. I have a small problem where it says "stupid new person" with a picture of a baby next to my name every time I post something. In the previous version there was this linked image you could delete to get rid of it, I can't find anything along those lines in this version though. Anyway, how do I change or get rid of the baby thing. The problem I had the forums was mainly a misunderstanding and I can't really recruit anyone with a giant black eye on my forum pic.
  9. Alright thanks, it's only a matter of time before my server members see the words "update" and start saying to me "then why haven't we updated yet". Now I can reply back to them with clarity on why we shouldn't.
  10. I have a question, Since this is a development build I assume it's not recommended that you switch to 1.2.5 right away. So that means we should wait until the full (or stable) version is released and THEN we can switch our servers to MC 1.2.5 right? I just want to make sure, the hosting company I use is not the most flexible so typically it takes a day or two to switch versions, stepping into a 1.2.5 landmine and then trying to backtrack out of it usually costs me recruits. I appreciate any information that clarifies this, thanks.

  12. I run a small hosted tekkit server, I have been asked by a few of the members if logistics pipes are compatible with tekkit pack. Has anyone tried this out? are you able to implement logistics pipes without adapting tekkit, or do you have to re-write the jar and ID codes to make it work. I appreciate any helpful feedback.
  13. Hey, quick question. Is there any way to get biofuel without losing the tin from the fuel cells. I tried getting a biofuel setup going but once I realized it was going to lose me a lot of tin I had to stop short. Thanks,
  14. Ya we were waiting for tekkit 2.0 cause we just had to restart from some other mods that weren't working well and killed our old map. Thanks for letting me know that the map would require an unavoidable restart, we weren't 100% sure if that would need to be the case. I suppose we will just experiment with what we can build in creative until the next version fixes everything. Thanks for the information,
  15. I had managed to get a tekkit 2.0 server file before the moderators discovered it had block ID problems. We have been waiting a while for this release and were wondering if its safe to begin terra forming the map and getting our MC basic stuff together; I sorta figured the ID glitches may be the advanced stuff, but if not would the map be unrecognizable to updated clients? Thanks, any information is appreciated. (I made this post here after the general topic one seemed to fall flat, maybe that was the wrong place for it)
  16. I checked a few pages of the discussion and didn't see anything relating to what I'm about to ask. My question is, if I start working on a server using only default tools and basic MC will I need to restart the map when tekkit is updated? I was just wondering cause I figured the block ID problems may only relate to the industrial/buildcraft items and I was hoping I could do a bit of work on my map without messing with the complex stuff. If the resources or mod generated blocks in the terrain are subject to problems then I'd probably be better off starting over again when tekkit is restarted. Thanks, any help is appreciated.
