  1. That's Matmos doing it's version check. Matmos has updated since the version that's included in the pack. Don't worry about it. I'm sure the latest-at-the-time version will be in the next release build of Technic and you won't have to worry about it. I highly doubt that the fact that the version of Matmos (which has worked fine and been stable in the current release of Technic since it's release) is no longer the most recent is what's causing your crashes.
  2. BTW isn't kept out of Technic out of respect for FC's wishes. The mod is terribly coded. It doesn't play well with other mods. There's no value in trying to make a modpack that contains one mod. Besides, the way we see it around here, having your mod included in the pack is a benefit to the mod and modmaker, and we're not really interested in doing FlowerChild any favors. And it is true that permission was not obtained from mod authors when these packs were initially put together, but this wasn't really out of a desire to steal. Technic was originally a private pack shared among friends that accidently became public and popular, due mostly in part to the Yogscast showcasing it. There's a lot of back and forth in some sectors of the modding community about the "evil" technic pack and the way it "steals" people's mods. Some people have a virulent hate for the pack and rage about it on the drop of a hat. It's mostly irrational, but the creators of the pack aren't eager to make a bunch of excuses for using mods without permission. They're not exactly going super legit and dropping every mod until permission is given either but they're doing what they can to become more "legit" as it were by trying to get the mod authors on board and give their blessing. This pack is about providing a service to the Minecraft community, to help more players gain access to some great mods. We're not out to start a war to separate the community. If you like BTW, then you can probably install it on your own. And good luck getting many other mods to work along side it.
  3. This is pretty hilarious. I'm going to do the OP a favor and explain why everyone is laughing. FlowerChild hates Technic. He hates the makers of Technic. And frankly, the regulars here on this forum reciprocate that emotion. From what I've been able to glean he wants to control every little aspect of his mod including who uses it and what mods can be installed along side it. It's also coded in such a way as to be completely impossible to integrate into a modpack like this. I think part of that is his greedy use of the very limited block ids available. When SirSengir, creator of Forestry, recently added code to his mod that would make it function poorly when used with the Technic pack, Flowerchild was practically ready to have Sengir's children out of his elation. Perhaps now you see why everyone finds your posts so very hilarious.
  4. There isn't an Anvil-to-region converter. Levels generated in Anvil cannot be played in minecraft versions prior to 1.2. Maps that were converted from region to anvil have a backup of their region version which is probably what you're loading up, but any changes to the anvil version cannot be back-ported.
  5. They're more expensive to make, though... BC chunkloaders might still be useful as a cheap alternative.
  6. The primary problem with EE is the geometric progression of EMC generation. I think this needs to be cut down, perhaps to a logarithmic progression. Basically, in order to increase EMC production by, for example, 10 EMC/sec you have to double the amount of collectors. Each collector you build provides less of a boost to your overall production than the last, a diminishing returns kind of thing. The 10EMC/s number was just an example, I don't know what would be fair. Perhaps an integration with some of the other mods would be cool too. Maybe there can be a device that can increase EMC production rate by taking an input of EU from IC or energy from buildcraft. If you power up your relay, for example, it provides a bigger bonus for attached collectors. That way you attach some EMC-related value to a somewhat more limited resource (EU/energy).
  7. This kind of thread is generally not allowed on many gaming forums. Why? Well... how do we know you're not the greifer attempting to sully the reputation of two people who haven't done anything wrong? Basically, you're a perfect stranger, accusing two people no one here knows and who are not here to defend themselves of being griefers. So posts like this are not only unreliable ways of keeping track of thsi kind of thing, they are damaging to the community because some people will take it seriously and the individuals you mentioned, if innocent, stand to be mistreated. It's basically a witch hunt, where people accuse those they don't like of a crime and everyone, hungry for an excuse to lynch someone, descends upon them mercilessly. So, without a good way to vindicate your accusations, it's actually a bad idea to make them.
  8. I've heard that word before but I forget what it means... darn.
  9. The pattern of updates is heteroscedastic. Make sure you read up on that term and fully understand what it means before asking futher questions.
  10. Well it will work but it's inefficient and wasteful... You should never put uranium cells on the edge of the reactor. They end up generating more heat that way for no benefit. My Mark 2 reactor only has 14 heat dispersers in it, you definitely don't need 18 of them. This design has the same power output but uses less components: http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/reactorplanner.html?hixmyxaaymlkz4lwkeazaekgwik2qwwrwj077tw7rl3zmy51c Here's another design that only requires 5 chambers and is more efficient than yours for the same power output. You can make it 6 chambers and get rid of one cooling cell too if you want. http://www.talonfiremage.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/reactorplanner.html?hixfb4ut2sql48wlj33qvs1pqwi98scik4ds5s0de76968we8
  11. Those creeper faces are terrifying jakj, have you tried the Faithful 32x32 pack that's designed for Tekkit? It works pretty good.
  12. Machines only run when the chunk they are in is loaded. Chunks are only loaded when they are within 10 chunks of a player. If no one is online, no chunks are loaded. You can use chunkloader blocks to resolve this. Placing one in the world forces the chunk it is in and the 4 adjacent ones to stay loaded even if no player is nearby. If you press F9, you can see an outline of the chunks that will stay loaded due to the chunkloader blocks. Check NEI for the chunkloader recipie.
  13. Yeah I had that happen too. WorldEdit uses wooden axes as one of its tools. You'll have to disable worldedit if you want to get rid of that.
  14. And Ender bags only have the inventory space of a single chest, unlike the massive space of an alchemy bag.
