Agreed, I believe the word "screwed" is a bit over the top. We're fine, we just have to wait.

Would that mean we are screwed?! In this case, Tekkit and Technic would not have to be separated...ever. All that this means, is that mods will have to be modified, i imagine only slightly, to fit the ONE logic system instead of two. Now, modding API, who the hell knows.

Place to find up-to-date info on the status 1.2.5 Tekkit

ACtually, I'd say that site is just a tad bit out of date. A better guesstimate would be right here on the Tekkit Forums. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,3015.0.html -
You can increase memory, but clicking options on the launcher and increasing the amount there. This could be unrelated, but I had lag issues in SSP when using the spahx 128x pack, I dropped down to a 32x pack and had far less issues.

Valkon is right, you need to use BuildCraft engines. I generally make a tree farm, powered by steam engines, to make charcoal. Then quickly make a peatbog and power that off of charcoal. Soon as that is done, I'll switch over to peat fired engines, they are great. I am not sure however, if using a more powerful engine such as a combustion engine makes things work faster. anyone know? -
Railcraft linking carts are not in the current version of Tekkit. Currently Tekkit is running 3.4.2, and linked carts is in the 4.1 series.
