  1. Yeah, same issue here. tried everything. my friend got a modpack setup that has almost all the same files, expect it's outdated, and he cant be bothered to update. so im doing it by myself.. but it just downloads the .zip file to temp folder and launches vanilla.
  2. To all the haters. Just download the latest test version of IC2, smack it in the mod folder and use it. and FIY, seems they removed LV MV and HV solars. might be temp or permantent. I didn't bother reading the changelogs.. Didn't know they were from an addon.. I just want the mod for the late game stuff like uu matter and to test out what's new. People should just stop complaining. Yes, IC2 is a good mod, but it's not in this version of tekkit, and neither will it. get over it! move to another custom pack or go play vanilla. and just stop comparing this pack to FTB. If you like it so much, stick to it.. /thread.
  3. Is it a public server or friends only? if friends only, just go into the server folder and your tekkit folder and remove the old file: appeng-rv10-l.zip And then add the appeng-rv10-m.zip Tell your friends to do the same. problem solved. The launcher don't care wich files are in the folder right now, only if there is any current updates for the mod. And then you can simply remove the old tekkit folder and download the new version that will eventually come with the rv10-m patch. Im using it now, aswell as the latest test version of IC2 on a test server. and no problems there.
  4. Well, boring stuff is usually the most solid one.. if your idea of fun is to run around the world replacing anchors and pumps once a day, and risking explosion because of server bugs, then be my guest. The combustions are fun and all, but for one, they demand more space, are unstable and MUST be checked on once a day. I mean, one server hiccup and your whole engine room is gone, including pipes, tesseracts and all. Even better is a fully powered AE system, with no power.. so that you end up with a dead system and no stuff. If keeping a seperate power source is necessary, then it kinda speaks for itself how useless they are. But heeeey, they are fun right?
  5. I don't get the obsession with combustion engines anyway. YES they are the most powerful engine. but if you manage to get enough invar to set up a couple of magmatics and one quarry, wich leads to more magmatics. you are golden. magmatics are great, and they go on forever. and demands next to no lava compared to the old Geothermals in IC2.
  6. Also.. Applied energistics is faaaaar superior.. costly, but superior..
  7. Confirmed aswell. had to switch out pipes with tesseracts.
  8. 1.0.6 update Pumps can once again be powered with redstone engines.
  9. Oh, didn't know that. I reckon it will suffice with one magmatic then. Thanks man! :)
  10. I'm having issue with my lava pump. it's placed in the nether along with the regular 4 redstone engines, 2 torches and one chunckloader. Problem is as follows. the engines just freeze up after a while, note: not stopping, but freezing in a random position. And so my tanks run dry,and all grind to a hault. but, im not having problems with the redstone engines pumping from the tanks. Also, im running a private server with 1.0.5. problem has existed since the start of tekkit. Setup for illustration r = Redstone engine i = redstone torch p = Pump C = chunkloader. r i r p r i r C Also worth noting: My whole setup is placed inside a pocket dimension, witch makes it movable to any location where I later will want to build my house highly recommended for people who dont want to make alot of small starting houses. And you can actully keep ALL of your industry inside the dimension. this goes for anything, including farms. except mob farms, since mobs don't spawn in pocket dimensions. BTW, anyone else notice that all the AE drives are missing in NEI? i can find them manually if i right click any storage modules though.
