Legitimately will be challenging. Are you using EE? If not, you will need nuclear and mass fabrication sooner rather than later.

Remove your lastlogin, launcher properties, and launcher file, redownload the launcher, and run it. That's been known to fix problems like this, though it may just be the minecraft.net servers acting up.
-
Nope, you just removed the windows path search items. It'll actually improve system performance in some cases, while preventing you from running some things in others. For reference, mine looks like this (some items redacted): "C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\QuickTime\QTSystem\;C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin" Windows uses this path to search for, or run, commonly used items (video drivers, QuickTime, system files, etc.) without needing a path for them. You might want to add the %SystemRoot% and %SystemRoot%\system32 ones back in, for your convenience.

Recommendations: 1) Kill Norton, and go get something free like MSE that's less intrusive. 2) Upgrade to Java 7, and kill all old versions of Java. If that doesn't fix it, come back and let us know.
-
Add java to your system path variable, or put the entire java bin folder path in the batch file you're using to launch. Either works.
-
Give actual version numbers - it helps troubleshoot. Remove old version(s) of Java if you have any. What's your antivirus? Those like to screw up downloads.

Negative on this. The option to change Render Distance is in Video Settings in the Options menu inside the game. Changing the server view distance is typically asking for trouble.

Reactors with output above 512 EU/t (anything ice-cooled may fit in this category) need HV cable, preferably insulated. So, do this: Reactor > HV cable (4x ins.) > HV Trans (3-dot side toward reactor, no redstone) > glass fiber cable > MFSU > glass fiber cable > MV trans > gold cable minimum > LV trans > copper cable minimum > machines. You can remove the LV trans if you're using all advanced machines or machines with transformer upgrades. Be careful, or your machines may blow up. Post pictures if you have further problems.

You don't have 7u5, or at least the launcher isn't using it. Remove older versions of Java. If that doesn't change anything, make sure you're running the 64-bit version of Java (since you seem to have a 64-bit OS).
-
The launcher doesn't load and stays indefinably.
Torezu replied to deserter321's question in Technic Launcher
I find it interesting that your Java version changed between launcher logs. I'd suggest looking for duplicate versions of Java and removing all but 7u5. What did you do to reinstall, just clear the cache or wipe the entire folder, launcher and all? That's what I'd do. -
Update to Java 7. If that doesn't work, try running the .jar version of the launcher.
-
Run with the .jar version. I suggest a batch file.
-
If the launcher can't find the Java directory, double-clicking on a .jar (which usually runs it with Java) isn't going to do any good, most likely.
-
MCEdit is quicker and easier, and you don't risk issues because of block ID changes.
-
Go read the YogBox Bug Board. There's a sticky on this exact issue.
-
Go into Video Settings and increase your render distance.

Post a launcher log after you've tried to run Technic. -
Install Microsoft's .NET Framework 3.5 and 4. You may also need 2.0, though the first two should suffice.

Very well: 1) Find the directory that contains the java executable. This will typically be c:\Program Files\java\jre7\bin, but the exact folder may vary. 2) Open Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings 3) Go to the Advanced Tab and click Environment Variables... at the bottom. 4) Find the Path variable, select it, and click Edit... 5) Add to the end of the Variable Value a semicolon, followed by the complete path, like inside these quotes: ";c:\Program Files\java\jre7\bin" 6) Use the OK buttons to back all the way out of the Advanced System Settings dialog.

The highest-end nuclear outputs roughly the same amount of power as 8 HV arrays (taking the daylight cycle into account), and is so much cheaper (unless you have EE enabled) that it's somewhat ridiculous. You just need the uranium to run it, and a good breeder reactor, along with the mining to get the materials for initial construction, will take care of that.
-
Yes, but some people want more mods than what are in the pack. There are options for installing additional ones.
-
There is a texture packs section. I suggest taking a look - last I checked there were a couple dozen threads, so maybe 6-8 texture packs.

How do you get the quantum armor without going into the Nether, since you need glowstone dust for at least the mass fabs and the advanced circuits, if not most of the other advanced equipment, like MFSUs? **Edit: I guess there are other ways of getting glowstone dust, but the nether seems the easiest, cheapest, and quickest.

Why is it that people always ask this, not knowing when they might get an answer, instead of doing the obvious?
