Deleted the technicpack folder in %appdata%
Torezu replied to IProdBronze's question in Technic Launcher
That's a bit better. You probably won't have a launcher/error log if the launcher hasn't run successfully. Try adding an exception in Norton for the launcher to allow it to download. Norton, McAfee, and especially AVG like to mess with the launcher, detecting it as a virus-like program or something. If that doesn't work, disable Norton entirely for the download. Norton's a system resources drain anyway - I'd advise a free product, like MSE or Avast!, that's just as good at catching things and not so hard on your system. -
Remove both of those and add Java 7u5 64-bit. When you do the default install for Java 7, it tries to install 32-bit for some reason, and it appears to have succeeded with yours. The JavaFX is irrelevant.
-
Try allowing the launcher in Norton. Also, edit the batch file to add "pause" (no quotes) as a second line. That'll let you see what the error message is.
-
Yeah, that doesn't remove much - the coal, 4 diamonds, 32 redstone, and 1 glass. Oh, and I forgot to mention, you'll need 3.6 million more EU for a charge from nano to quantum (4 million EU if your nano's not charged).

Neither was your "bug report". Shall I list the reasons? 1) "Up to date" is not a version number. It's not hard to get that number, so you should post it. 2) You also need to put down which bit version of both Windows 7 and Java you're using, and make sure they match. 3) The use of "Too Many Items" in your problem description indicates that you didn't read the Common Problems and Solutions sticky. We don't use TMI. 4) You used a drastic solution (reinstalling the launcher and presumably mod pack) for a simple problem (NEI stopped working) that may have been easy to fix. 5) "now it doesn't work!" is not a problem description, at least not one we can work with. It's up to you to provide enough information so we can help you. If you told an auto mechanic a car doesn't work and expected him to fix it anyway, he'd probably laugh in your face. 6) A complete lack of error messages or error log means this bug report is useless to you. So, try again. -
Emphasis mine. I'd really like to see Thaumcraft 2 and maybe MineColony or Millenaire SMP-ported. There are a couple others, but...

There's also a delete button. It was a separate post. Kind of. Well, thanks for the tip! :tipshat:

Sorry, but your post doesn't help us troubleshoot for you. Try again, with more effort this time.

Norton doesn't like the launcher. You can try adding exceptions for Java and the launcher, but I'd just disable or uninstall the whole thing and get a free one that works better.
-
I assume you actually have Java installed? You should have the right-click open with Java option if it's actually on your computer. If you downloaded the .jar with Internet Explorer, go get it with a browser that doesn't mess with your file extensions.
-
Go get the .jar version instead.
-
Get rid of AVG. You clearly didn't read the sticky closely enough. The thing almost never works with the launcher.
-
Your connection is being cut off by something, probably McAfee. If it's the "free demo" version that comes with most computers, get rid of it. Get Avast!, MSE, or some other free one (not AVG) that doesn't suck.
-
You can start by updating Java. Then I'd take a look at the LWJGL library (there's a selection button for that in launcher Options). See the Common Problems and Solutions thread for more info.

Tekkit crashes after Mojang screen (Yogbox also doesn't work)
Torezu replied to Mefista's question in Technic Launcher
AVG really doesn't like the launcher. I'd recommend uninstalling it, personally, and getting a different free AV that doesn't arbitrarily block things and suck system resources like crazy. -
512, then. I don't remember what the options are because I've never had to go that low, sorry. You're going to have to drop your detail levels quite a bit to get Technic to work reasonably well at this point.

"now it doesn't work!" is like blood in the shark tank around here, just so you know. Try harder. -
Java 32/64 bit conflict, cant find java directory
Torezu replied to ElManguel's question in Technic Launcher
I'd personally figure out why it doesn't work with 64-bit Java. It's so much more efficient, and gives you better access to your RAM (32-bit has a 1.5GB max), not to mention being required for some of the newer mods, that you really should just get it working. If you insist on using 32-bit Java, though, you could run the launcher .jar instead, and use a batch file to run it with the full path of the 32-bit version of Java. Come to think of it, that's probably a good way to get the 64-bit version working: use the .jar. -
Nano set: 22 carbon plate, 4 energy crystals, 1 glass block. Quantum set: nano set, 4 lapotron crystals, 10 iridium plate, 2 advanced circuits, 1 reinforced glass, 3 advanced alloy, 2 machine blocks, 2 glowstone dust, 2 pairs of rubber boots. Break that down: You'll need a macerator, a furnace, an extractor, and a compressor for processing the basic raw materials. You'll also need a Mass Fabricator with a large power source for 47 million EU minimum, assuming you use scrap to help with UU-matter generation, which of course means you'll need a recycler. Otherwise, it's 280 million EU. Just to give you an idea, if you're not going solar arrays or nuclear, 47 million (46-2/3, really) is nearly 37 stacks of lava cells. We won't talk about coal. Total raw materials list: 176 coal 145 copper 104 tin 95 iron 28 lapis lazuli 18 diamonds 60 redstone dust 6 glowstone dust 8 sand/glass 280 UU-matter 24 sticky resin 2 wool You'll have one each advanced alloy and bronze, and some reinforced glass (6) left over. I think I did that right.

So something happened today... Something awful...
Torezu replied to Megastokked's topic in Cafe Lame
It could also be NEI acting up. You need to post in a Bug Board. -
Saves are in c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\[modpack]\saves, if you're in Windows 7.
-
Not sure if you're trolling or not, but that's about as specific as it gets.

first download fail and then screen stays
Torezu replied to Jacob Newton's question in Technic Launcher
Well, I'd first try using the .jar version of the launcher. Then, depending on your Antivirus, I'd consider replacing it with something that's easier to use and not so hard on system resources. You still haven't said which one you have, though. -
Then you need to completely reinstall. It's likely, if that doesn't work, that your antivirus or firewall is messing with the downloads.

Go into Video Settings and increase your render distance. It defaults to Tiny-32 for some reason.
