What's your Java version? If it's 32-bit, it won't let you allocate more than 1.5GB directly to Java. Semicraft probably works around that.
-
See above post. Change the file name inside the .bat to match the name of the launcher.jar.

Your antivirus. Disable or better yet uninstall it.

You've reinstalled the launcher? Have you tried deleting .minecraft at the same time? I know it sounds weird, but...there are configuration compatibility issues. Also, post a launcher log. It might have something useful in it.

mod_NetherOres : Unsupported major.minor version 51.0
Torezu replied to chowchig's question in Tekkit Classic
There is a new 1.1 (not MC) Bukkit port available. I'm not sure what version you have. Odd, though, my server's always used this just fine... -
There is no suggestions thread for Tekkit. That's because you're not supposed to suggest things for Tekkit.
-
That's a Java error log - we need a launcher log to troubleshoot effectively.
-
You realize each modpack has its own texturepack folder, right? And that you should be putting texturepacks in there?
-
You're not giving enough info to troubleshoot with. How, specifically, didn't it work? Was the server visible but wouldn't allow connections, or could they not see it? Can they see the server computer on Hamachi? I suspect this is a configuration issue rather than a bug.

Double-check that you don't have multiple versions of Java installed then, and that you have the correct bit version for your OS. -
Do you have an uncommon character anywhere in the .techniclauncher path? If not, a complete delete and reinstall of the launcher, .techniclauncher (or specific mod pack) folder, and .minecraft folder usually fixes problems like this. Back up what you want to save, of course.

Teleport pipes are quirky. Ender Chests can be used if you're in the mood. Any items in pipes that fall out are either graphical glitches, or visibility bugs. Sometimes they can be retrieved with magnet mode, sometimes not.

I recommend browsing this thread. I will not claim experience with any external host.

When trying to access the 'technic' selection, i get "Download failed"
Torezu replied to Awesome_bob's question in Technic Launcher
Disable, or better yet remove, AVG. It causes no end of problems with the launcher, especially during the initial download. -
Did your auto-save get turned on at 2 seconds? It's in the config menus somewhere.

Nuclear reactor complex - as built by an electrical engineer
Torezu replied to littleweseth's topic in Get Lost Grotto
I was about to warn CbotL6 for needlessly necro'ing a post (been playing catchup on the forums), when I realized that I would sticky this if I could, so I think I'll just bump it instead. To add some content and avoid a needless bump, question for the OP if he's still around: did you do anything with the world after you made the plant, or was this the sole creation in this world, and for fun? -
Errrm, you may find your legal basis for the mod "rights" and "source code" on shaky ground, at least where their use with Minecraft is concerned. Be forewarned.

Okay, now add a z to the beginning of the EE file to make it load last. It auto-configs a lot of stuff. Beyond that, it looks like you have a startup order issue. I would suggest a new host if this one doesn't know what it's doing when it comes to Tekkit.

Did you somehow miss this thread? It's been there a long time, and the solution to this bug is always the same. -
I use 56. Don't ask. I've had bad luck a few times anyway.

Tekkit isnt working for me but everything else is
Torezu replied to Hampster_Teddy's question in Tekkit Classic
There's a log file. Really. It's there. Go re-read the Submit a Bug Report form carefully if you're unsure where to find it. -
Feed the beast! No matches ongoing right now
Torezu replied to Sp0nge's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
That's because the server thread has been deleted, since it did not meet the requirements for a server post. -
Do you happen to know what OS the host is using? Load order can affect the server startup process. I suggest renaming all of the mod .zip files to have capital letters at the beginning. It may not seem like it should make a difference, but it likely will.

You don't need to port forward or set an IP for a Hamachi server. They just need to connect with the server's Hamachi IP. Need more info - error logs from the client(s), how you configured it, etc. If you have more than 5 people (including the server if it's separate) on the Hamachi server, and it's the free version, none of them will be able to connect.
