Do...you...have...Java installed? That was the first question, and you still haven't answered it. Either type "java -version" into a command line, or go into Control Panel and look for it (assuming you have Windows). Also, this is in the wrong section.
-
Use tin, put a batbox halfway up the cable. Make sure the output's on the correct side (down, probably).
-
I have an idea. Post an actual bug report, in the right section, with a non-run-on-paragraph and some relevant information.
-
Knowing how you fixed it would be nice. Unless it was just a reinstall, it might help fix future bugs of the same kind. What did you do in the process of going from broken to fixed - do you know?

my tanks that are holding water are crashing me in 1 second of joining
Torezu replied to bubblekiller's question in Technic Launcher
Are you using waterproof teleport pipes? Those things are...buggy. I'd use MCEdit to kill them. Also, this isn't a launcher bug. Post in the right section, with more info, and an error log. -
Have you allowed Java, not the launcher? What AV are you using? AVG, for example, likes to interfere even when it's disabled.
-
The launcher log, as is so helpfully stated in the window for the Bug Report, is located in %AppData%\Roaming\.techniclauncher\logs. Use pastebin if it's too big for code tags.
-
Huh? The .techniclauncher folder and mod packs are separate for a reason. You...can't do this.
-
That launcher version isn't out yet. 62-bit OS platforms don't exist. This is the wrong section (Tekkit Bug Board is what you want), and that's the wrong log. You haven't quite hit everything you could do wrong with a bug report, but you're close. Thread closed - try again in the right section.
-
Windows 7 is an improvement over XP, and hugely better than Vista. I'd recommend a 64-bit OS, though.
-
Yup. Since you have a 32-bit OS, Java will never use more than 1.5GB, so if you go over 1GB or so allocated, the garbage disposal process gets...messy.
-
You really need to read more carefully after clicking the Submit a Bug Report button.

Launcher causes lag and graphical glitches in game
Torezu replied to gustav165's question in Technic Launcher
First, update to Java 7, making sure to use the 64-bit version if that's what your OS calls for (looks like it is). Then, make sure you're not trying to use an integrated graphics chipset, if you're on a laptop with both. -
Nah, we'll leave it up, mostly to let others know that the RAM allocation for the launcher .jar probably doesn't translate to the RAM allocation for a particular mod pack, since that's actually Minecraft you're running. This is also completely different from the RAM allocation for a Tekkit server, if you happen to be running one.
-
Okay, I'm just going to lock this whole mess. People that still have issues, please post new bug reports in the correct section of the boards, in your own thread. Block ID issues like this are always fixed by a correct and complete reinstall of the mod pack in question. There are no exceptions to that rule, except 2 little issues right now, and this isn't one of them.

i can play for a little while then i crash
Torezu replied to hailfire88's question in Technic Launcher
I'd be...well, okay, just willing, not more than happy, to do that, except that this isn't a launcher bug, and if I were to go into your thread, I'd be obligated to delete it for being in the wrong section. Read the rules, folks. The Launcher Bugs section is not for bugs that happen after you finish loading Minecraft. The launcher has already stopped running. -
Post a launcher log then, with pastebin if it's too big for code tags.

I can play for a bit, but then I get "Minecraft has run out of memory"
Torezu replied to Bammeh's question in Technic Launcher
I don't know how Macs work on this stuff tbh. I've seen stuff on prioritizing Java, but I've no clue how Macs do that. On the other issue, look for a launcher log, if there is one. Otherwise, check for an AV issue and/or use the .jar instead. -

Did the OP give you permission to threadjack? -
Use pastebin for the launcher log. It'll help diagnose the problem. It just looks like you might need to reinstall, though.
-
Fyi, this isn't a launcher bug. I moved the thread, instead of deleting it, because I'm nice. Now, if you'll just double-check that you don't have two versions of Java, or just 32-bit...that'd be good. If you have 64-bit Java, make double-darn-sure your OS is 64-bit. Then check to make sure you don't have multiple versions of Java. Then check your antivirus, because that's the leading cause of weird errors. If you do all that, and still have errors, come back and let us know.

minecraft crashes java.lang.RuntimeException: unknown character says this
Torezu replied to SluttySquid's question in Technic Launcher
On the Java downloads page? Just click All Java Downloads. -
I can play for a bit, but then I get "Minecraft has run out of memory"
Torezu replied to Bammeh's question in Technic Launcher
You're running quite the old versions of the launcher and Java. I highly recommend updating both. -
What's your antivirus? Hint: Read the Common Problems and Solutions thread.
-
Download the .jar, right-click and hit "Open with Java". Make sure your Java is up-to-date, and all old versions have been removed.
