so why don't the devs support it? under Ubuntu, the mods run as slow as heck. by the way, make sure you know whether you are using the .jar or .exe file. .jar should work better under linux with less errors.

wait what do you mean? Once you log in once and check the remember button, your character's skin and username/password gets saved. As to directly starting Tekkit, once you select it once, it stays tekkit until otherwise selected. Please clarify your question.

It's never a good idea to run modded Minecraft under Linux. NEVER! That's a mistake right there.
