Seems pretty biased to me.

Oh those millions of modpacks that you see that people don't get permission for and are poorly edited?
Are you some sort of uber fanboy? Have you ever heard of multi quote?
Why are permissions such a strong point of yours.
Redistributing free content is not a big deal as you make it seem.

Does this only happen with the Big Dig?

I don't know, i figured someone out here know how to fix that problem
Lol.
I'll take a guess at your problem your trying to run forge. Simple trick:
1.Create a folder called bin
2.Download your appropriate version of Forge
3.Rename it Modpack.jar
3 Easy steps.
I'm assuming you know how to set up the rest of the pack.

I built a 3x3 square with glass 2 blocks high. I placed a fission reactor in the center and filled up the enclosure with water (Non flowing). I placed turbines one block higher then the 2 block deep flowing water and right clicked and it worked.

When i try to connect to my new server, it says that the Forge Mod Loader could not connect to this server, the mods and versions listed below could not be found. They are required to play on this server:
DimesionalDoors: 1.5.1R1.3.4RC3
AppliedEnergistics: rv.10.K
StevesCarts: 2.0.0.a106
I am attempting to connect to my new server which is hosted at a company. They said they are running tekkit 1.0.6 when they installed it for me, and i am running tekkit 1.0.6 from my launcher.
It's server sided. These mod versions are older then what you get from downloading the 1.0.6 server files off technic. I would have a chat with them

Are internet connectivity issues a problem with only this specific app?
Try deleting your .techic folder and seeing if that solves anything.
Is FTB any good?

The truth would require you to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each platform and point them out allowing no personal experiences or influence from either party to come into play.
You post is littered with opinions and assumptions regardless of the fact that you've written it or not.
This makes your claim invalid.
