  1. Thanks for the information. I would definitely use the Magic Pickaxe if i found it. Sounds like the ultimate builder's tool, though you probably want something with Silk Touch/Fortune for adventuring. I use the Ender Sword (dropped by the Walker Boss). It's teleport power is nice in the Mazes in the Twilight Forest and for the Dark Tower (Ur-ghast lair). I dont use it in combat though. I also use the Spiderhook in those same areas. Oh and Golden Feathers. Alot of my players also use the Cloud Boots, the Quiver and Essence Arrows. The Ninja Knife (dropped by the Pirate Boss) is supposed to do "alot" of damage if you "backstab" with it, but I never tried it. The Scouter seems redundant since the modpack includes the Damage Indicators mod.
  2. I am having a hard time finding information about some content in Better Dungeons. I wanted to ask someone who might extensive experience playing the mod.
  3. Thanks, David. I'm really surprised at the toughness of Imp Skin armor (same as Diamond it appears). I'll share this with my players.
  4. Hexxit features armors from alot of modpacks. It seems pretty strightforward figuring out how much protection a set offers (put it on, see how many "armor shirts" it gives you) but comparing durability is more difficult. Some of the mod makers will post generalities of "this armor is less durable/more durable than diamond", but I am curious if anyone has actual numbers on how much durability each armor has. I doubt that Cloth Armor or Imp Hide would be very durable (never made either, so just guessing) but I am curious to see how Diamond compares to Diamond Plated Scale or Kreknorite or Fiery Ingot or Hexxit Gear armors. Anyone have any numbers to share?
  5. This happened to a couple of my players. We think it mostly occurs in areas where a structure was generated by the mod. So my players avoid building in towers or castles that they have conqured. We also think that building high above the ground or really deep will prevent this sort of destruction, but it could also be pure luck. Anyone know if there is a height/depth that is immune to "battle tower griefing"? Anyone see a battletower spawn in an area that didnt already have some mod created structure?
  6. Disenchanting gives value to the loot. "Reaching max gear level" takes a different amount of time for everyone, but once you are there, there is no reason to take ANY of the enchanted loot. Also, I have found most of my players have created an xp grinder since the repair costs for thier gear outweigh the xp gained during thier adventures. The perception that you need an xp grinder in order to adventure in an adventure mod... is strange to me. Hopefully disenchanting comes back. Or at least, a reason to actually take that enchanted gear.
  7. I made a Tinker's bow and arrows (and you are right, there are some potent combinations there). You cant put the Tinker arrows in a quiver (even the "manual load" quiver). The Tinker bow will fire arrows from a quiver before it fires Tinker arrows in your inventory (and the Tinker bow does some awful damage with non-Tinker arrows. The damage seems oddly low with essence crafted arrows too). So the Tinker bow will do the "Bomb Shot", you just cant use Tinker arrows with it.
  8. The Knapsack isnt something I knew about before. That is a neat item. Unfortuantely, if there are essence crafted arrows in your inventory, the "Bomb Shot" still does not appear to work (even the Knapsack inventory). I will ask the players if they have used the Tinker's arrows and if the "Bomb Shot" works if those are in the inventory.
  9. I have 2 players on my server who are avid "ranged characters". They really like alot of the mods that improve ranged combat. Something they wanted me to bring up/discuss is the "Bomb Shot" feature from the Legendary Gear mod. They love it, but it doesnt seem to work right all the time. There is another arrow quiver you can craft (I dont know which mod it is from) but if that quiver is in your inventory, the "Bomb Shot" wont work. They use the other quiver to hold essence crafted arrows, which arent compatable with the Legendary Gear quiver. They were wondering if it would be possible if the "Bomb Shot" feature could be changed to work even if the other quiver type was in thier inventory?
  10. Thank you, David_Wolfe. I'll let the player know. Thanks for pointing out the Bug Forum form, Joker2040. I'll use that if I have any issues in the future. There seem to be a couple of Hexxit wikis. My players directed me to this one: http://hexxit.wikia.com/wiki/Hexxit_Wiki. Going to check the technic one Dash16 linked before I post any other issues. Thanks again for all your help.
  11. I know there is a Hexxit Bug Forum, but the Technic forum tells me I dont have the proper permissions to post there. So... posting here by default. I am running a Hexxit Server and the Soul Shards dont seem to be working properly. Right clicking a Soul Shard on a Soul Cage does nothing. The Soul Shard was Tier 3. I went to the mod creator's page, but it seems he isnt updating it anymore (the developer of Xeno's Reliquary will be updating it in the future). I would check to see if the mod is configured correctly, but I am not sure where to look or even what the settings should be. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: After some testing, it seems this problem is with Endermen Soul Shards. Zombie and Skeleton Soul Shards work as they should. Have not tested any other Shard types yet.
