  1. How did you set this up? i'm trying to get a 1.7 pack working and I'm only getting vanilla 1.7

I am assuming you are using the single zip file method, you need to have the correct directory structure, you need, at a minimum of two directories in the zip file, bin and mods. In bin, you need to place the forge jar file in and rename it to modpack.jar ... if that file does not exist, the you will get the vanilla 1.7.

  2. My Panic Pack (named after the !panic command in my stream chat that would get used every time I would panic in game [a lot]) is a collection of mostly magic mods, and a little bit of tech thrown in. I tend to shy away from a lot of the "common" tech mods, so you will not find IC2, Buildcraft or even Forestry in here.

Some of the mods include: Thaumcraft, Botania, Blood Magic, Totemic, Biomes o' Plenty, EnderIO, PnumaticCraft, Hydraulicraft, Useful Pet's and more.

You can view the full list of mods on the modpacks page at: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/darkphans-panic-pack

I hope others will enjoy this as much as my friends and I have so far :D

  3. Like the one everybodys been talking about but not confirmed... I use imac but I dont know if this is the problem .. it hasn't been working for 1.09.c up.

That is because you are using Java 6, and (at least) ProjectRed was compiled against 7 so you would need to update to Java 7. This has been discussed in many, many threads here on the forums.

  4. That seems like a lot of work. Im just using a vanilla villager spawner setup, some redstone, and water. They spawn, grow up, and then swim to their doom. Its the same setup that GenerikB has. Check one of his early videos on the mod pack for details.

It was a lot of work, but it was also fun to setup and watch, and it is fast.

  5. How do you "Smelt down" a villager?

I have a little setup that I show off a bit here:

Basically you use a Minefactory Reloaded auto-spawner with a villager safari net, and have those guys happily jump into a Tinkers Construct Smeltery. You need to make sure the smeltery has some type of liquid in it for them to bathe in, I used a gold nugget.

  6. Also your -Xms setting should always be half of your max -Xmx. Its bad practice to force it to allocate the full 5GB. Set the minimum to hlaf and if it needs it to, it has the space to grow.

Unfortunately those are the settings that are set by Cubedhost so I can't adjust them.

  7. There appears to be a memory leak that causes our server to crash after an extended period of time. I have tried to schedule restarts when nobody is on to work around the problem (which is pretty rare, this is a fun pack and the folks on the server love to play it, heh). For those that will suggest "just give it more RAM",that is not the issue, we have a 5gb server, and, as you can tell from the included crash logs, that is being specified in the java start up parameters.

  8. So if we update the following mods/configs we should easily be able to upgrade from 1.0.9a to 1.0.9b correct (assuming the configs for everything else is the same)?

EDIT: Looks like some of the other config files were modified as well, so I guess best bet would be to update everything listed above :)

    - Project: Red updated to version 4.3.0.24.
    - Code Chicken Core updated to version 0.9.0.9.
    - Tinkers Construct updated to version 1.5.4d4.
    - Forge Microblocks dependencies have been updated.

  9. We have managed to find an issue on our server, had a user try to start using the better storage crafting table when the server crashed, a copy of the crashreport is here: http://pastebin.com/uVgMHSYd

EDIT: It seems this is a world crashing issue and will prevent the server from starting back up :(

EDIT2: After restoring from a backup, I went into the betterstorage.cfg and set the enableStationAutoCrafting to false to help prevent the server from crashing in the future.

  10. Just wanted to say that I updated our server today, and so far everything works as expected, no crashes, etc. We haven't found any glaring issues either. About the only thing that was a bit of a downer was that the Project Red pipes can't see the full inventory of the storage crates, which, given how cheap they are to make it is understandable.

  11. That's them lacking foresight, I'd say.

Enhanced Portals is enough to get yourself back, so I'm with cigarjack in that we're probably okay.

Well, it would be an end to them playing on the server if they couldn't do anything. One of the guys died because he was the first one to get to the moon and the server had to generate the world, causing him to crash before he could do anything.

  12. We have had a few people start down the Galacicraft tree, and they have gone on to the Moon, only to have problems and die there, with no way to get back to the Earth/Overworld. There is currently no way, that I know of, to teleport a player from one dimension to another. A command such as the tpx one from Mystcraft would be really handy to have.

In the mean time, I have suggested to folks that they should use Sync and create a clone of themselves in case they die again in the future.
