  1. And it's sad that all these great small bands may never amount to what they should be, because of the music my generation likes. Talent has been overthrown by who looks the best, or who makes all the teenage girls scream the most.
  2. I'm 13, I complain about my own generation. Mainly because if the music my generation listens to. Fucking mainstream Pop/R&B/Rap. I hate it, so so much. What happened to good music? :(
  3. Play Amnesia. Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god. *Huddles in a corner and cries*
  4. Hmm. The DF Forums never seemed to capture me as much as the Technic Forums. Probably because of the absence of a Whale Box.
  5. Getting devoured has always been "Fun" for me. On a side note, I love clicking "Random page" on the wiki, you never know what you will find there. It found me this page: http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/On_the_origins_of_dwarves
  6. I agree. I've just explained what DF means by "Generating History". After that he stopped complaining about the speed of which it generates. And it seems he would rather ask me stuff than use the wiki, with the reason of "It's more fun to annoy you." Seems hes gonna have to do stuff on his own now :3
  7. So, I was helping my friend get started with Dwarf Fortress, and he asked how to get a good map. I directed him with a link to the DF wiki (With Let me google that for you.) he replies "This wiki sucks, it doesn't help!" (A Hellen Keller sentence indeed.) And then called me a dumbass (using a picture from Machinima, he seems to use it whenever possible...) I then use the search bar in the wiki to get a starting guide I know is on there. I find it in about 10 seconds flat, and give him the link. I tell him "The search bar is your friend" (Sounding strangely familiar...) he replies "Bah." and doesn't even open the link, but instead looks for maps to download. My god, he's a stubborn Hellen Keller. I felt like posting this because, it strongly reminded me of the Technic Forums.
  8. I've decided to play DF without a graphics pack, it used to be hard, but I think I've played it so much that I barely have to look hard at something to know what it is anyway.
  9. My children tend to go missing a lot, there's a vampire I haven't located, so I never have TOO many. Still more than I'd want though.
  10. I had a great Fortress, it could survive a pretty harsh invasion, mainly thanks to the fuckton of traps at the entrance. I left the last few goblins that were either injured or separated to get massacred by my Military dorfs. Good training. But, when I finally got down to the magma sea, I carelessly got both of my Miner dorfs burnt in the lava. > After assigning a couple of random dorfs to mining, I got so annoyed/sad at their disappointing mining rate, that the fun went away. I should probably go back to it and fix things up, but maybe some other time. Oh, and, I sucked with mega-beasts. Every time one came from one of the 3 caves I'd encountered, I'd just leave them alone, and they'd go away. :3
  11. It seems Subway service in Australia is much better than Service in America/wherever. I go to Subway a fair bit, and every time I get the sub I want. Hell, they do a fairly good job too. And it always makes me smile when their badge says "Sandwich artist".
  12. Ah, I see now. Thanks for clearing that up Jakj. :)
  13. Oh, your right, these DOS game titles be giving out false information! D:< And, what do you mean by "MS-DOS support that was hacked on"? *Noob*
  14. I tend to send the ones that are left after assigning them to useful jobs, straight to the military. Gives those useless bastards something to do xD
  15. Hmm. released in 1996. That would be in the windows 95 era. But, it seems that I need DOSBox to run it? From that I assume it's a DOS game, but I may be wrong
  16. No, only well organised people use Dwarf Therapist Hah, I use Lazy Newb Pack, so I guess I'm fully enjoying the Dwarf Fortress experience?
  17. Well, I've been playing a fair variety of them, but the main ones are: Nethack, Amnesia, Dune 2, Earthworm Jim (memories...), The Incredible Machine 2 (memories of primary school, not as awesome as EWJ memories, but still cool.) and Gods. All of them have that awesome old school feel about them. Except for Nethack, that just reminds me of Dwarf Fortress xD
  18. Oh god... I'm about to play Earthworm Jim... This is gonna be a blast from the friggin past! I've always found PC games better than consoles (And Macs >). I haven't had much experience with any really old consoles, so I wouldn't know much about what that's like. I agree with you there, it's pretty bloody awesome
  19. Children can't work. But, if you want to assign dwarves other than children, I suggest http://code.google.com/p/dwarftherapist/ Another handy tool (that includes dwarf therapist.) Is http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=59026.0 There should be plenty of tutorials on how to assign dwarves to different labour using Dwarf therapist, but I'm too lazy to write one at the moment. I hope this helps!
  20. Wow, thanks alot I'll be sure to check out One Must Fall 2097, thanks!
  21. Hey guys, So recently I've been downloading and playing MS-DOS games, I don't know why, I just have. I've found a few that are pretty fun, X-COM, The Incredible Machine, and Oregon Trail for example. But I want more. Do you guys have any recommendations for a good MS-DOS game to download?
  22. I'm playing goddamn MS-DOS games, like a boss.
  23. Kakey, you seem to have gotten me addicted to NEO Scavenger.
  24. I once made a wrap with: egg, bacon, cheese, salami and ham. I wrapped it all up in some flat-bread and fried it. I swear I could feel my arteries clogging.
