  1. Hehehe, now this would really be something *G*, but those statues would have been easily recognisable, but I walked right through them and didn't get the WAILA input.

So far stuff works and except for that ghosting (which hasn't occurred yet again) nothing happenend.

So back to my own "Deathchamber of DEATH!!!" and finally get done what the mighty generikb showed us ;D

  2. I have started to experience a rather weird behaviour I cannot explain.

Every time I return from the nether I see avatars of myself or my friends frozen on that position they used to be when I disconnected. With every trip to the nether I add another bunch of avatars which appear there. When I relog I do not see them anymore, but after the next trip to the nether they are back (in force and with more and more backups).

It is not causing lag or anything, its not crashing the server, its just a weird graphics glitch.

What keeps me wondering is that some of these positions are days old by now and the avatars still appear.

I am running a 1.0.12a server (no further modifications) and the netherportal is an upgraded Enhanced Portal 2 with dimensional and dialing upgrade.

Has anybody else noticed that? I do not have a problem with it (at least not yet ... and so far I haven't noticed one building up) and the effect is somewhat creepy cool (feeling like those star trek parallel universe episodes), but I am curious whether someone can report from the same incidents and whether it influenced his gameplay.

  3. I like the idea, but I doubt it will work, since the main problem isn't the chunk not being loaded (that was never the problem since one can move the spawner interdimensionally really far), but missing positioning info. In worst case it will even crash the server. The target card has no dimensional info included, so I guess it will only try to move the spawner to the coordinates stored in the card and since there is no second block teleporter waiting it might cause problems. I would try this in single player only with a testworld.

  4. I did some research (i find that topic interesting) and as it seems there is no other solution like the way you pointed out. Somebody built a machine the other way round, but that wouldn't help.

What I wonder (only very rough first thoughts):

Liquid XP can be bottled. If this bottler wouldl put the stuff in say .... a dispenser which shoots the stuff onto a stonewall with a sewer under it could that work? Or could you use a vacuum hopper which puts the Openblock XP into a tank which then showers onto a sewer?

Another thing I thought of would be to bottle or bucket the xp and then give it to an autonomous activator. If you could add liquiducts to it and put the stuff in a tank from where you could then shower it onto a sewer could also do the trick.

Those are the possible ways I could think of.

  5. yepp. must be his second or so moon episode. I will check it later on.

Nevertheless I have built a portaspawner in the meantime (heck a lot of running around and doing stuff), which will be the carrier for the blazespawner.

The grinder is growing nicely. At the moment I have 2 witches, a skeleton and a zombiespawner in place. The blaze will be the last one. I do not want a spider in there, since I fear they might crawl up walls and end up clogging the server down since more and more spawn. Apart from that there are plenty spawning on the outside.

  6. Did he? I have seen that video, but I do not exactely remember.
But somehow I doubt he did it with the Block teleport. The teleport faces you when you place it. So he would have had tobreak a dungeon floor next to it which wouldn't work since it is unbreakable like bedrock. I rather think he had two portas. Anyone remember the episode number?

  7. Don't know of any PVP AOTBT Tutorials, but if you want to learn the ropes, check the Youtubeseries on this by Keralis (Builder), GenerikB (Mad Scientist machine Freak) or Paul Soares Junior (Adventurer who is very beginnerfriendly)

Other series from the same server are done by BDoubleO100, Chimneyswift, Glis6, Pungence and Skyzm. I haven't watched those yet so I cannot say which focalpoints they have.

  8. I think he used the Block Teleporter, which I know is what they used when thy pranked Chimney with the witch spawner.

Yepp thats true. He used the Block Teleporter for the prank, but the blazespawner he got from the nether with a portaspawner. Since he was lacking the different machines at that time, he must have gotten it either the cheaty way or used someone elses machinery;) just saw the video this week

  9. Hi everybody,

I am currently refining my mob grinder, and after having added witches and skeletons to the carnage I want to have a blazespawner as well (like generikb has in his setup), to have a constant supply of blazerods.

Generik went to the nether and used a portaspawner to move it over. That little item is quite handy but its single use and a pain to create. I have a pair of block teleporters which I would prefer to use, but can they move a spawner across dimensions?

Or is there a better way to move the block I have yet to think of? (and please don't tell me that I could simply use a silktouch pick ... that would embarrasing)

  10. That is indeed true. Might come from the fact that the pools on those islands are two blocks deep, while my pool only had one block and it was wider.

Using a 9*9*1 setup for the pool ended up in them spawning in finitely and flooding the place. The room in which the pool was sitting was 11*11 wide so they had a means to escape.
So escaping the helps to force the spawn, as well as keeping the pool bigger, since the area seems to matter.

    Aunt Edit said:

I have never observed the spawning to stop since I couldn't because it would have knocked the server into oblivion.

  11. I am more a fan of the airport method. Since I power my Auto spawner with mob essence from 3 normal spawners I have aqcuired I do not need a breeding stock.

Then I have conveyor belts encase in glas (just the floor is stone to place them), which transport the guys towards the smeltery and then drop them in.

So kind of "pessengers Johnson, De Ryuter and Butcher please proceed to gate immediatly for further processing!".

Using the bdcraft modpack with the AOTBT Add on makes that exta cruel, since they are screaming like dieing Javas from Star Wars MUAHAHAHAHAHAARRRR!!!

  12. Yepp thats true. I had a 9*9 pool in my mainbase and they spawned like hell. Since I have a poppet shelf to keep the chunk loaded it even spawns when nobody is on the server (the log looks crazy!).

I had to encase the pool with electric fence to stem the tide, since the slimes were choking down the server, so that my friends couldn't move close to it without experiencing a full fps drops.

When properly channeled they are a good source for Mob Essence and Slimeballs. But keeping them "in the wild" is inviting desaster.

  13. You should check on generikb's witch/slime reactor on youtube. He has done the soul glass setup as a catalyst for his witch burning reactor on his space station.

Works quite nice and once I get to a new location (mainbase runs on a magma reactor like Keralis has built) I will implement this as well.

  14. Holy chiselmanissle. Ok I have made two of them (carpenter and tinker) but I didn't realise there is a third one ... i will check that out ... thanks a lot.

Concerning the mob problem. I have also tried going into the wildness (several hundred blocks from the base) and just stand there and look onto the ground .... the next day I walked home. Its not that no mobs are spawning, since I see peaceful mobs all the time, its just that there are no spiders, skellis, creepers (thank god for that ;)), Endermen (which is a pity, since I want an Endermenminionarmy) and the rest of the evil pack.
