  1. There are still several good 1.5.2 Hexxit servers running... You can also select which version to play, and roll it back to 1.5.2 and play SP that way.
  2. There are randomalities in the MC matricies. I also had a village spawn successfully with a necromancy grave yard in another map. There is some kind of corruption, hopefully the coders can figure it out and give us a playable world.
  3. Crash log needed. I've encountered many o' structure.... Including the cathedral you are referring to. There are too many visual variables and discrepancies. In the future, open the crash log, copy it, and paste it in <code> here. If you need help posting in a particular format someone from staff, or the many guides on the internet can help you. EDIT: Putting together a tutorial for posting code in thread. I'll put it up tomorrow.
  4. Find a castle keep looking structure in the ocean or some relatively large body of water. It should have a door with a key hole. That is where you use the water temple key. Beware though, not sure if the trigger is on a timer or chest open... But beefed up versions of monsters or a boss appears (ranging 3-6 in number for beefy mobs). Be prepared for a fight when you enter.
  5. Now that you say it, I realize how silly the comparisons are. No, they do not run on java. I'll look into java and Nvidia related issues. Thanks for the help.
  6. I keep getting some kind of crash while in MC, only in this version though. Every so often a dialogue box (generic message) appears about drivers no longer responding and needs to close MC. Doesn't happen at all, ever... in WoW, EVE, EQ II, or D2/D3. My drivers are up to date... It doesn't give me any crash report so it's extremely vague and difficult to investigate. Any other Nvidia users out there experiencing similar problems?

  9. It's a little unbalanced at the moment with the amount of modpacks and the variety they bring. Hopefully Quantekk or someone else will take the time to work out the bugs and work on the config files for a proper server. This update project is looking like a long term thing, very long term.

  11. Yeah, that was another of the work arounds. I'd sacrifice villages for stability, even as a long term solution. EDIT: Villages are largely useless past the begining of the game. If they went away it wouldn't be a big deal. Not gonna post crash report, but it did crash again. I'm thinking the items are already generated there or elsewhere on the map requiring Necromancy to be loaded. So I need to go in and remove the bad chunk and find all necromancy items and delete them to recover the world. I'm not concerned with recovering the map, I've already started a new one. I'll keep the file on hand though for testing.
  12. I read a thread on the forums here just the other day about this issue. Wish I had bookmarked it, can't find it again. Standby for results of removing necromancy.
  13. I also encountered this crash with UMS. After looking around about what the problem is, I'm not sure what causes it. There is, however, a work around for it in the form of editing the map through third party software. It has been suggested that the cause is either Biomes o' Plenty, or Necromancy. I'm inclined to believe it's the latter since We don't have Biomes o' Plenty. Something about the chests and graveyards spawned near villages corrupts the chunk/s. See:

  15. Agreed... Those mobs are quite dangerous without infernal buffs. Some of them need to be taken out of the overworld all together, and maybe relocated to the nether or twilight. The AI seems a bit smarter and more beefy in this version of hexxit. I'm used to dieing, it's part of MC. But, it seems like most of the mobs are super over powered for begining of game. And those water mobs.... I swear those octo things spawn right on top of you and just start blasting. They make it extremely difficult to explore the waters, specially before you get a strong ranged weapon and armor.
