  1. Sry been gone for a few days, I'll give it a try later this evening and see if I can find out how to remove it myself and then post on here. By the way, I was just thinking.. you say messing with the settings doesnt change anything at all for either of you. Have you tried removing matmos? Cus that shit is a pain in your motherboards ass if you don't have an extra gig or 2 of RAM for that alone. It adds some nice background and environment music, but no one needs much background noise to help with immersion unless you're running a reflective water mod and HD texture packs.
  2. Did you manage to get it removed by doing what i mentioned previously? And if you didn't, may as well try to get optifine working. Here's a few tips tho for starters. Go download Java 7 update 5 because it's fixed quite a few bugs since the second update you have. Next, check your Microsoft .net Framework version for me. Type %windir%\Microsoft.NET\Framework into the run area or into any directory and open that folder up. Inside should be some folders at the top with version numbers, see which number is the highest. If you still have v1 or 2 then update that shit haha. Check your drivers on GeForce.com, new drivers can boost performance 10-15%. Next, go buy yourself some RAM...seriously. I have 4GB on my laptop and it's not enough. But obviously that can't be done at the moment you're reading this so make sure under options, your technic launcher is setting Tekkit to run with 1.5GB RAM so your system processes have a little memory to work with. I don't think I need to ask this but what render distance do you normally use without optifine and what is it set to with optifine? Check on all of that stuff and report back and we'll figure it out.
  3. Basically, optifine overwrites some of the original files within the modpack.jar (essentially minecraft.jar in the vanilla version + some extras). Deleting every file that optifine puts in there is uh..going to make your game crash like you've apparently been experiencing. Go to your vanilla minecraft.jar and if any files that you delete from modpack.jar have another version in the vanilla .jar, delete them and replace with the clean version from a vanilla 1.2.5 minecraft.jar. Let me know if you have issues still and I'd be glad to help. On a second note, since I'm offering to help, I'd also like to help you get optifine working as it should because as you've stated YOU are getting WORSE FPS with optifine but the general population is not. There's probably a reason for that somewhere within your system, java, or minecraft settings.
  4. If I had not just bought Diablo III I would more than likely be offering my extensive expertise in the area of Java programming and ask you if I could join one of these mysterious servers. However, enjoy playing on them if you are haha If you reread the post you'll see that I mentioned they have been ported and when saying recently ported I was referring to Redpower 2, maybe next time instead of taking 5 minutes to make a lengthy post I'll make one along the lines of "Stop f*cking posting about Tekkit 3.0 it's not here yet!"
  5. Unfortunately, like the other 319 posts daily about Tekkit 3.0, it is not here. Notes on why: 1. Not all mods are ported to 1.2.5, being that RP2 and IC2 (if you don't know what those are you should not be posting on this forum) have only recently been ported, the hard work on making all mods compatible server-side has just begun. 2. Developmental versions of the Technic Pack are DEVELOPMENTAL. Meaning they are merely previews to what the next pack may contain and are not in any smooth, working state. There are no Tekkit developmental servers. 3. Not all mods in the Technic Pack are included in Tekkit. Getting mods compatible serverside is much more difficult than client mods and therefore takes more time in doing so. 4. Those working on Tekkit are not full time employees, they are Minecraft players who enjoy the game and would like to see it made more fun by the additions of mods like those included in the Technic Pack. For the uneducated that means: They are not paid for their work. 5. "But a server on the list says it's for Tekkit 3.0!!" It's not. There are some servers where people have put some of the mods ported for 1.2.5 together on their Bukkit server and pass it off as Tekkit 3.0. Again, it is not Tekkit 3.0. 6. A note on ETA's, DO NOT ASK FOR ETA's: or the next comment on your post may read like this: or this: For those who would like to encourage those working on Tekkit and the Technic Pack to spend more time doing so or would merely like to thank them for their selfless effort, please visit this link: http://www.technicpack.net/donate/ And please, stop clogging up the forums with posts anywhere near related to Tekkit 3.0
  6. Obviously ask for permission to use any of the code, but Equivalent Exchange has the divining rod which does just about this exact same thing. Gives you 3 numbers back based on the 3 highest energy values (in equivalent exchange terms) of what is in that direction. Can be used for a 3x3x3 range, 3x3x16, or 3x3x64.
  7. So this is not a suggestion or I would have posted in the correct area. One of my biggest issues with Minecraft in general, or possibly just personal preference, is the biome borders. Jungles inside of large winter biomes, massive mountains of dirt in the middle of deserts, etc. etc. Does anyone have experience in modding biomes that could help me out? I'd like to modify the world generation algorithm to add additional biomes that are only along the borders between one biome and another. For example, instead of going straight from sand to dirt and tons of jungles trees, I'd like to add a biome between the two that is mostly sand with some patches of dirt and small trees to ease into the next biome. I'm envisioning a similar transition from winter biomes to desert or plains biomes. I'm decent with Java, any help is appreciated.
  8. Feel free to PM me if you can't get it working. I don't like to use Hamachi only because my internet is much faster than routing it through their servers, however, if you have no control over port forwarding on the router (which it seems like you don't have that issue) then use Hamachi. The setup is beyond simple. Just to recap on what everyone has said: Non-Hamachi Step 1: Port forwarding Step 2: Run server Step 3: Log in with the ip as "localhost" to connect to your own network/server Step 4: If step 3 works, google "my ip" to get your external ip address and give that to your friend for him to log in to the server Step 5: If step 3 does not work, repeat steps 1-3. Hamachi Step 1: You and friend download Hamachi Step 2: Have friend connect to your Hamachi group Step 3: Copy the IP that hamachi shows above the group into your server.properties file next to "server-ip=" Step 4: Start server and game Step 5: Using said IP address, log onto your own server Step 6: Give said IP address to friend and have him log in
  9. Ya I quit and reloaded the server as well as restarting my computer and starting up the launcher again. Neither helped the problem. Maybe NEI disables the random weather variables or something along those lines? Although that would explain the windmills not working, it wouldn't explain the solar panels not working when the weather was set to normal and the sun set to mid day. It's working again for now though but if it stops again for as long as it did earlier today I may dive into the code and post my findings afterwards. For now, I'm happy tho.
  10. Haha no worries, there may as well be a vacuum between them and the sun, besides the wire below them the windmills and solar panels are in clear view of the sky and the windmills have a very large area of space around so as to not disrupt the wind. About 5 minutes ago they started working again, and I have no idea if it had anything to do with Not Enough Items being enabled but thats the only thing I can say that I've changed in the last hour or 2 between when they were not working and now.
  11. Will try and take some soon and upload them. Basically it's 6 windmills, ~50 low voltage cable straight up from the ground, nothing but the cable around them in any direction. Cable goes down to an MFE, MFE to low voltage transformer, transformer to 2 Batboxes. None of the cables cross each other, all cables are in the right spot in terms of input and output on the boxes and MFE. It was working fine even after I added solar panels on the ground and connected them to the low voltage cable going to the MFE. Just stopped working yesterday for about an hour and then came back on for a a few days (in game time) and today it didn't work at all from server start up to stop. Edit: Is there a server cache or any files related to Industrial Craft that I can delete in the hopes of it reloading everything correctly? And also, Generators hooked up the to the cable to the MFE still produce electricity to my batboxes, the solar panels and the windmills just don't seem to be passively generating anymore.
  12. I have a 2.1.1 server for myself and a few friends. Yesterday the EU coming from our windmills seemed to be sporadic. I figured since windmills aren't constant I'd make some solar panels too. Everything, and I mean everything, whether it be during storms for the windmills or noon and sunny for the panels, is refusing to produce electricity. I used the EU reader on the cables right next to them and no EU at all so it's not a wiring issue. Anyone else experienced this or similar issues on their server? (I've logged in on both localhost on my own pc and over tcp/ip from a separate pc) I've also travelled and started a different system there and no luck. Restarting server doesn't seem to help either. Any more information I could provide you with, please ask and I will.
  13. These forums are dog eat dog. Read around before asking questions and you'll save yourself from everyone waiting to prey on people who don't read the rules or hit the search button before asking questions. And by the way, the latest dev build for the Technic pack doesn't even include crafting table 2. I play 6.1 because as of right now any map without the new world height limit looks boring to me. Play whatever suits your style. Cheers
  14. As magicman said, do you have the latest Jre 7? Also, have you made any changes to launch.bat to try and allocate more memory or anything along those lines? And/or do any error msgs pop up when you try to run the .bat or does it simply open DOS and close it instantly?
