  1. I admit I have trouble with capitalizing "I" in the sentence at times, I also have trouble with where, were, etc. Same with there and those kind of things. Stuff that sounds the same with a different meaning and spelling.

I also dont mind people saying "LOL" out loud, its like a sarcastic laugh. Things that DO bother me is crap like "I have 2 go get something" Are you really saving time by holding shift and pressing 2? Isnt it easier to right to?

I say IMO (In my opinion), BRB, lol, lmao, etc. Not stupid crap like "LUL DO U WNT 2 COME DWN 2 TOWN 2DAY?"

Wtf is another one, it just seems far more cleaner and better then saying what the fuck.

Oh my god, "PLZ/ples" is one I CAN NOT FUCKIN STAND. Same with thx. If you dont take the effort to ask like a proper human being by saying "please" then you dont deserve it, if you say "thx" then your CLEARLY not appreciative -_-

Its weird that, ones that save 1 or 2, maybe 3 letters I can not stand. If its in a very busy situation like PVP in MC, then sure use u or ur. But not normally.. Love of god -_-

Weird isn't it? I also don't get pissy over ' in things like dont.

  2. I figured I'd make a post to say hello to the community here. I run a tekkit server for a few friends and I trying to get them to play more minecraft :) Some ISP issues have caused grief over the weekend i'm still sorting, but the week now I've had to try and familiarize myself playing in a tekkit powered world has been illuminating.

As with any post, can't leave without asking some questions :)

First, rubber. I struggle like hell to keep enough supply coming in. I only just today found out that you can "kill" the tree if you tap it more after the orange dot disappears. And only yesterday did I figure out you could extract from the logs as well as the resin :/ On SSP the resin takes forever if ever to regen on the tree when compared to the behavior on SMP. I dont know why, but 50 trees weren't supporting my needs on SSP and yet 20 were enough for the 4 of us to start on SMP.

Next up, power. I only started discovering the benefits of upgrading solar panels beyond the base output units. I dabbled in creative with other sources, but frankly I don't see the point of the other methods beyond fascination given the cost to make them and continued run cost. Don't get me started on reactors :/

Lastly ore collection. Mostly iron is the problem, but copper and redstone are very close behind in consumption rate. We dabbled with a quarry on the SMP the first go round and took a long time to get it to work with landmarks to be placed, but every time we fired it up it blew up halfway thru the framing. It wasn't huge, but about 20-25 by 20-25 blocks. Also ran an auto miner on SSP and the output really wasn't that great even with the upgraded scanner and pre-scanned for 90+ values. Even with macerating the ores the rate I go thru stuff is staggering especially compared to how much I find/take in.

Anyway, not so much directed questions as much as its chit chat and a hello :) Always welcome input on starting out. I've redone my beginning house so many times to try and play around with wiring and transport pipes, its hard finding space in a wall anymore :)

    1. For rubber, "shave" the tree. Leave the top leaves, and cut the rest. Also leave all the logs, and tap it once. You'll get saplings and get a good farm going.

    2. Other benefits are GREAT, solar power is a quick and rather simple way, you pay the cost for convinence. Geothermal, reactors, redpower watermills, etc are well worth it later on. Reactors can produce 2000 EU, PER TICK. This would require 2000 solar panels, and it'll work only in the night. Or, the less high ones can do 100 EU/T,100 solar panels and only really require uranium to continue running. Solar panels are basic, and shouldnt be used as your main power source. Switch to soemthing else ASAP.

    3. The IC2 autominer isnt worth it, buildcraft quarries are also pretty fast, but you need a lot of power for them to go.

For above, dont use water buckets for internal cooling, either use cooling cells or intergated heat dispersers, or if you can, ice.

  3. Just because minecraft not be a top of the range triple A blockbuster HD shooter, doesnt mean it isnt graphics intensive. Mooooor graphics card=Mooor FPS. In some cases, LESS ram can be better. Try half a gig.

  4. I run the server, I can get on fine but another person trying to get on it cant get in.

    We've tried:

    Reinstalling tekkit (clearing cache)

    Deleting the tekkit folder

    Reinstalling many times.

Yes, its on the correct version (recomended) and it still wont work.

Also tried the usual fix, any idea?

Also, the mods folder actually has all the required mods.

  5. The nanosaber from IC2 can hurt a lot, but is hard and expensive to make. You can't break it however, because it is rechargable in a MFE or a MFSU.

A battleaxe from Balkon's weapons has knockback, so that is useful.

The redmatter omnitools from EE2 have infinite durability but are a bitch to make because of the amount of diamonds and Aeternalis fuel you need to make.

The IC2 chainsaw counts as a weapon too.

The IC2 mining laser is good for long range, can cause explosions and burns whatever it hits.

The EE2 gem armor ,the most goddamn expensive armor to make, because each requires a FULLY CHARGED Klein Star OMEGA, grants free flight, mining explosives, can kick mobs far away and the helmet, when activated, can cause lightning to strike wherever you look at.

The nano saber isnt hard to make, 2 diamonds, 20 odd redstone, a circuit or 2.

  6. As said before, theres no worries as long as the MFE is hooked to a LV transformer and the LV transformer is trasmitting low voltage to the machines.

If your really worried, put some transformer upgrades inside the slots that let them accept medium voltage, then high voltage (thats for basic machines, eg basic macerator if they start at mid voltage then it will up to HV)

The weird sounds are probably just the machines running out of juice and trying to get power, and since there getting power they instantly use it, etc.

    No worries.

Also, why on earth do you have THAT many machines?! Why not just replace the 13 eletric furnaces with a few inductions? And why the 4 ROTARY macerators? lol. I'd recomend changing it up, you surely dont need THAT many machines. In my extreme mining, I only need one or two of each machine.

Also, if your finding your macerators slow, make sure to put an electric current.. Any advanced machine, then they get a little RPM like thing, when its max it runs really fast but takes a lot of power.

And finally, id recomend getting a bigger power source. EG, nuclear reactor, geothermal if your going to keep up with all that demand.

  7. down a hole put a tripwire, linked to a deployers and when the trip is activated, it will open a door at the bottom and deploy string, have it close after a few seconds.

IMO thats an awesome entrance, its uses for a trap arnt limited ;P
