Well, now that I've seen firsthand what modding a Java-based system is like, I can say that as long as they stick with Java we're fine. We can literally change any line of code in the program to do whatever we want at any time, and we have projects like Modloader, MCP, and Forge making it happen in a logical and organized (mostly) way. As these projects continue to mature, we can basically say "fuck it, who cares about a modding api anyway" and never care again.
Any modding api would probably just be an inferior set of hooks into the code that forge already has anyway. *shrug* Technic Pack is the future, and Mojang (no matter who is running it now) is just our crazy, doddering old parent, that we've patted on the head and left behind, because he's just too out of touch and no longer needed. (Thankfully unlike my real parents, who keep up just fine.
)I agree here, but there are some great changes that mojang make at times (jungles being one) but i dont understand why as Kaker said people get boners at new sandstone.

If TC2 gets added to technic, its going to be a major mod like IC2, buildcraft and equivalent exchange.

The problem with that is then the money we'd be getting would otherwise go to the modders, meaning we'd be a huge magnet for the drama-llama choo choo going full speed down the fast rails. The "excess" we would be giving to the modders seems like a great idea until all 17 million of them want to audit us and send over their drama-llama air force, ground force and ships after our drama-llama trainwreck survivor hostages to prove we aren't going "oh hey yeah about that our costs were $100,000 so yeah we had to keep all our donations", not that we'd do that anyway because we're DecentGuys.
So yeah, it's a lot easier to avoid those drama-llamas, especially that air-force. Raining spit all day.
This really cheered up my day.

Wouldnt it make sense to accept donations, but only to keep ends neat? and if you get extra, split it to all the mod authors?

Dear technic,
I dont understand how on earth you manage to eat 4GB of RAM, or why you would need it, but for the sake of my computers sanity, can you please stop munching through it all?
Anyone else have to allow technic to have 4GB+ of ram?

What happens when you want to update technic?
What happens to your normal MC saves?
What happens to the work that has been done to the launcher?
How are you going to have the easy utility of getting 3 diffrent mod packs?
Why should technic change just to suit someone who doesnt know how to install mods?

Well.. you keep spelling technic pack WRONG, over and over again, its not hard.. its right at the top of the page, and in the url bar.

It is not TMI, it is NEI.. and have you looked at the um.. i dont know.. the stickies? it says "NOT ENOUGH ITEMS COMMON PROBLEMS AND FIXES" and how the hell can you spell "does" wrong?! they teach you that stuff when your 7.

These are not bugs or issues, your just so stupid you cant get it.
