tekkit community downfall started?
zenmender replied to zenmender's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Hmm getting tired of these tekkit mods. They act as if they are so much better then everyone else.. But nikademus it seems as if tekkit lite is the new tekkit. Tekkit classic will most likly stop development as there is a version of bukkit for tekkit lite just not 100% stable yet. Why they decided to break it apart im not sure. -
My bad i got mixed up. Since mojang allows modding i thought it was open source. But yes ive used mcp before and a lot of the code is there. Seeing how mojang doesent care much it shouldent be too hard to get the full code. If i make a lot of extra cash from my servers this month ill be looking into a developer to do this, ill be asking my friend aswell who owns a large server. edit: yeh i know ur not a mod and i guess there is still a chance, but imo the mods arnt so nice on these forums.

Thanks, first time i have posted and havent gotten put down by the moderators. Minecraft is open source though so you wouldent have to deobfuscate anything. The mods stay the same, just take the code from latest version of mc and make it into a client/plugin mod. Most people arnt striving for the new client mods just the latest version of mc.

No its not because the newest mod versions dont work with the newest bukit. This is why im proposing the idea of updating minecraft in a some what manual way by taking the minecraft code and converting it to a minecraft mod to add to minecraft 1.2.5 then make a server sided bukkit mod possibly from the minecraft server jar.

Now that the new custom mod url has been added i was thinking. Since forge and Bukkit dont like eachother Would it be a possibility of Taking the current minecraft Code and making a client mod for 1.2.5 and on top of that a bukkit mod for 1.2.5 for all the features of the newest minecraft? Im Taking a few programming classes now and may try to attempt it step by step but if a top developer could take this into consideration if its even possible would be a god for the tekkit classic community.

[HELP] "... has left the game" before ever joining
zenmender replied to Myst_Fuzi0n's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
just allow them to type /kit. Also try using the essentials version for bukkit 1.2.5 and making the spawn building atleast 3 or more blocks high. Why it says logging out im guessing is because they may be trying to connect with the normal mc client. -
"Perhaps a server is already running on that port?"
zenmender replied to Pullarn's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
If your using a Dedicated server They generally come with more than one ip, try using a different one. if you are running this on your home computer try ending the proccess java in task manager if that doesent work try using a different port -
So seeing as we no longer have a bukkit version of the server to be updated it seems as if the community will die off. I being a server owner with an average of 30-40 players dont want to have to deal with using the minecraft server mods or paying a developer for mods that will break every update. Bukkit just has everything you need and even the players would surely prefer bukkit. From here on i see the play base droping :/ its really sad seeing how big tekkit was. Now that tekkit is so far behind less and less people will join and more are starting to leave.

its never on because there is no banned items causing it to crash because kids have leaking pipes, darkrooms and millions of solar panels and loops and block breakers that flood the server and cause it to crash.
