  1. OK solved the problem. I downloaded the failing files manually. Reason that works is because wget (command line downloader) doesn't time out as fast as the launcher does, and I think my hardware firewall virus scanner was delaying completing the download until it was able to fully scan the file.
  2. I'm absolutely certain I'm not running any antivirus software, and the only firewall installed is the hardware one in my router.

  5. I can confirm this bug, and also add that any new retrievulators placed after this will also always, graphically at least, always point up also.
  6. It has been confirmed to me that this "error" exists outside of Tekkit in native Redstone mod, I have raised the issue on the Minecraft forums on the RedPower thread. It may be a case of bad documentation.

No idea on the server, as provided by Beastnode.com Description of Problem: The retriever accoding to the redpower wiki http://integratedredstone.wikispaces.com/Redpower+Machine does the following "Anystack Sequential: Every pulse the slider moves from slot to slot and waits until it can pull the specified number of that item from a connected inventory." It doesn't do that, the slider only moves when there is no more to pull in the currentl position. So for instance. I have an alloy furnance I want to put 64 iron bars in and 256 redstone. I should be able to place in the retreiver 16 iron bars and 64 redstone, and then (subuject to materials being availble) pulse the retreiver 8 times. First pulse should pull 16 irons bars Second puslse should pull 64 redstone Third 16 iron bars Forth 64 redstone etc until 8th pulse at which point 64 bars and 256 redstones should now have been moved to alloy furnace. What actually happens (against subject to avaialability) is that the alloy furnace is stuffed with iron bars (16 on each pulse) untiil pulses end or furnace is full.   10. Huh? The wiki makes no mention of needing a Klein Star or a relay, and various Yogcast videos I've watched on Tekkit didn't mention either of those two... Grrr, OK, so I've read the comments on the wiki now, it seems LOTS of people have this problem and apparently any fuel source will do. By far the most frustrating part of Tekkit is the lack of good documentation. Great game, but I'm having to spent a huge amount of time reading various wikis, forums and watching videos just to figure out how to make things go. Will update the Tekkit wiki now.
  11. I've built a destruction catalyst, I've charged it using V, I right click on blocks, nothing, I use R, nothing. How do I make it work?
  12. Man, so little information... Anyway, figured out that I must need 3 GPS hosts, not that I can find this documented anywhere. Then figured out that wireless modems must have a short range, not that I can find this documented anywhere. Then I just can't make it work, I've got 4 GPS hosts in range of turtle, but the turtle gets its location way off. I've checked, double checked and triple checked the locations of the GPS hosts and as far as I know they are correct. Actual location of turtle is 295,140,51 as reflected by the "1.4142135 metres from 296,141,52" So either I fail totally at 3D co-ords, or... or... Help? BTW, when I've got this handled I will update the wiki to reflect what I've learned.

  15. 64x64... its certainly not an unloaded chunk whilst I'm online, I can see it.
  16. One of my quarries has stopped, and yet it has loads still to go. It's not a lava problem, the quarry is submerged in water. I think its a problem that happens whilst I am offline. When I am offline the quarry quarries a doughnut shape, leaving the centre unmined/quarried, when I come online it resumes quarrying normally. However in this case, the doughnut part has reached bedrock, yet the middle part has some 25 or more layers to go (i.e. where all the diamonds and interesting stuff is). Any ideas?

  18. My redstone engine is working just as I wanted it to, taking stuff from my macerator to a chest. I read as much as I could about restone engines, and apparently they don't explode if connected to a wood pipe, which mine is. However it has turned green from blue, which I understand is stage one towards yellow, then red then explosion. Do I have a problem? How would I fix it if I do?

  20. Not sure if this in the right area... I want to pipe ores directly to my Macerator, but when I do they end up in the output slot, not the input slot. How do I get them to go to the right slot?
  21. Tekkit is server mod, not a client mod, and in order to use it, you must also use Technic launcher. Sorry, it looks like you need to ask about resolving your Technic Launcher issues as I don't think Tekkit is your solution.
  22. And its obvious is it that that launcher is needed? Not for me, as I've already stated I come from the spout arena of Minecraft mods, and spout servers do not require the Spout client unless the OP says so, it is dangerous to assume that people known what you know. But hey, if its that obvious and easy, you explain to me why I now have loads of "Unknown xxx" items, and why placing things like an iron furnace give me an internal server error.
  23. Err, not really obvious at all, I don't think I deserve that kind of comment at all, exactly how is it obvious? What makes it obvious? A link? I count 32 links on the front page before the fold on my monitor, which one of those 32 links obviously informs me what to do? How is something (apparently unsaid) obvious to anyone except those that already know?
  24. OK. got it working, seemingly anyway. Gone back to the default texture pack, and no Spout options to autodownload and install, so I guess I will have to find my texture pack manually Oh well, a job for tomorrow, for now its time for bed. Thanks for peoples help, but I do think the website itself could do with some helpful instructions, my questions were the very basics, yet seemingly not covered.
