  1. Not sure about other places, but they drop by the truckload for me off of the armored skeletons that patrol big dungeons (not the towers, they're like temples).
  2. Regional difficulty: The longer players spend in one area, the harder the mobs there get I really friggin hope that's optional. Or at least reserved for the harder difficulties. :/
  3. I usually try to work with one mod at a time if I can, using that mod's wiki/mcf/youtube page. It's slow going. XP
  4. I've seen a Hexbiscus in the overworld, just sitting under an overhang in the high hills. That was it, and of course I don't remember what it looks like. XP
  5. The "WHY IS EVERYTHING COVERED IN MONSTERS ON PEACEFUL" part definitely threw me off. I almost ragequit after getting camped by a bunch of fully armored/shielded skeletons in the first 10 minutes, but decided to gear up with carefully controlled mining instead of trying to explore right away, which was really, really helpful. The only problem I'm having is trying to figure out all the relative strengths and weaknesses of all the new armor and weapons, so I'm just stockpiling stacks of ingredients until I can tell what's what.
  6. There are (not really) rare super mobs like you would see in Diablo and Torchlight that have special powers now. Not really much you can do about them except steer clear of them or be armed to the teeth. I dealt with one yesterday that dropped spiderwebs to CC, disarmed me whenever I hit it, and regened so fast anything below diamond couldn't kill it. Killed a bunch of his buddies, a necromancer, and cleared a different area of a castle enough that I was kitted out in enchanted diamond and made a greatsword out of his friends before he finally went down.
  7. I know, I know. Just saying that's what I could do. My clarity's crap with stuff like that.
  8. Ok. I've got 8GB to work with. Used to be if I tried to raise it past 1GB, it would crash. Hope that's fixed. XP
  9. I'll be able to play for a random amount of time (sometimes it crashes immediately and I'll fall through the world, sometimes I can play for hours before BigDig decides to just shut down and freeze). Sometimes there's a white screen, sometimes there isn't. Crash Report: http://pastebin.com/7raQDVrp
  10. I already found the fix to this. Just grab your saves, textures, screenshots, and settings, move them somewhere else, and delete the *modpack* folder. DON'T RESET IT. Shift+Delete the whole thing. Then download from the launcher. You'll get a new modpack that's not broken. Then move your saves back.
  11. I'm not sure why Comodo would suddenly attack Java/TL. I've had them both forever, and only today did TL decide to act up. I did find it strange that every pack on the launcher wants to have some sort of mysterious update, and that's where the problems are starting. I only lost BigDig, and resetting the pack does nothing.
  12. I'm not sure if it's still there, but someone had created a tutorial world for technic/tekkit which I found to be very helpful. Unfortunately I never bookmarked it. I'll see if I can find it again... Was moved to the regular minecraft forums: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1262610-mod-pack-tutorial-maps-technic-6-and-7-direwolf20-and-rpg-pack-tutorial-maps/
