  1. Here are some things you can try to improve Minecraft's performance: Install optifine Reduce graphics settings; set render distance to tiny, set advanced open GL to off, particles to minimal, smooth lighting to off, graphics to fast, and clouds off. Close any other applications/programs that you are not using. Avoid having a browser window open with any sort of streaming media or flash media running Don't play while doing a disk defrag, registry maintenance, virus/malware scan, etc as these actions oftentimes use up alot of CPU power. If you have a dual-core or quad-core processor, search for and download UnparkCPU (It's the first link, website is codebag) to check if any of your cores are "parked" and use it to "unpark them", you'll need to re-boot your PC after doing this for changes to take effect. *Do note that doing this on a laptop will sacrifice battery life for CPU power, if you plain on being on battery power for an extended period of time, use the unparkcpu program to park the previously unparked cores. Go to Control Pannel (Large/Small Icons listing) >Power Options>Select a Power Plain> Click "High Performance" *Again, like with processor unparking, this will sacrifice total battery life for more performance. Set it back to Power Saver if you plain to being on battery for long periods of time. Allocate more RAM if possible, (I have mine set to 2GB and it works mostly fine with a few exceptions) but leave at least apx. 1GB of RAM open, windows doesn't like cramped spaces. Play in windowed mode, not maximized. Use the default resource pack. Sphax is cool and all, but 64x and even 32x can be tasking on an older system. DON'T ENTER THE PROMISED LAND until you edit the biomes'o plenty config file: located in %roaming%/attack-of-the-bteam/config/biomesoplenty/ids, press ctrl+f and type in "Pixie" set the value after = to 0. Also it may help to navigate to %roaming%/attack-of-the-bteam/config/biomesoplenty/misc press ctrl+f and type in "puddles" and set the value for "Enable Puddles During Rain" to False Ensure you are using the 64-bit version of Java (provided you have a 64bit Operating System) Some Lag spikes occur because of some mods. Using Archimedes ships with particles set to anything but Minimal causes lag spikes when getting near/entering water near the ship, Some worlds I had suffered Lag Spikes of Death (0 FPS) when I was in a Mountain Biome and flew in creative mode to ~Y:168 and above, When in the Promised Land, I suffer from Lag Spikes when new chunks are loaded, though this is a general Minecraft lighting engine issue that occurs with any skylands-like mod including the Aether/Aether II and Mystcraft (Stupid cave worlds! Y U SO AWESOME YET LAG SO BAD?!) Some words of warning: 1) Avoid using carpenter's blocks with Archimedes ships, also avoid using glass panes, and non-vinilla "non-cubic" blocks. (I.E. microblocks) Tropicraft Chests, and chisel blocks work fine though. 2) Back up your worlds every time you finish playing. One time, I had my client crash to desktop, and when I re-launched my game, the world I was last on WAS GONE! The Save Folder was there, but the file was corrupted to the point where Minecraft couldn't read it anymore! :c (This happened in ATOTBT 1.0.8, it has yet to happen to me in 1.0.9c) I hope this helps resolve your issue.
  2. 1) Apologies for jumping to conclusions, video description and TL:DW have been updated, as well as the "Tag Pool" 2) The wiki states that it should have 5 "Hearts" but your base health is 20, so I guess the mod creator of Advanced Genetics scripted the morehealth DNA trait to add a percentages instead of a flat amount. 3) Using commands is considered cheating in survival, this should be obvious because to enable commands you have to click the button under "World Options" called "Enable Cheats" 3a) When playing Hardcore, you can't even enable cheats...unless you open your world to LAN 3b) Some even consider dropping difficulty to peaceful when about to die cheating, others consider it cheap. It is mostly frowned upon in the Minecraft LP community. Also my best friend is very picky when using "mod combination oversights" he considers some as ":non-exploitative/experience ruining" and others "exploitative/experience ruining" Ones he considers exploitative: Using Enhanced Portals to enter/exit the witchery spirit realm causing it to be locked in a Dream state upon entry. Using TConstruct's "Knapsack" to freely transfer item from the spirit realm to the "Living realm", and the health multiplication "bug" outlined in my last post. I just hope this "oversight bug" winds up getting fixed in a future update. I wouldn't want to play on/run a server where people can use "mod combination oversights" to their own personal gain over other players. This would create a rather un-fun and non-enjoyable experience.
  3. The promised land will also have lag spikes when generating chunks because Minecarft sucks at generating skylands. It kinda sucks the mod creator of Biomes'O'Plenty didn't have a "pixie spawn rate" setting in the config file.
  4. I think OP is trolling. I managed to get "LUL I don't die unless I drop from ORBIT" amount of health. This is an exploit, and a bug, the following video that I recorded shows how I did it. There are jump-cuts in the video where I cut-out where I was messing around and/or rambling.
  5. How many saplings do I need to grow a big rubber tree? 1 sapling with the remaining 8 blocks around it level or 9 saplings? Also, I just came across two volcanoes right next to each other. Thanks for answering my question guys. Guess that means that this topic is dead now.
  6. Hello everybody. So I recently updated to Tekkit 3 and decided to create a new world to see what has changed and what cool new things there are the mess with. Well after awhile I decided to see if I could find any volcanoes for basalt but it appears that they are either stupidly rare or don't exist anymore. The same goes for the big rubber trees, went through numerous forest biomes where they would spawn and to no avail. Do the volcanoes and big rubber trees no longer spawn in world anymore, or is this a bug? I miss making my basalt brick towers of doom. Also, how the crap do you grow those firggen big rubber trees from the saplings? Tekkit Version: 3.0.3 UPDATE I have located two volcanoes next to each other around X +1000 Z +1000 on the world seed 1. They are more rare and I like that. Also someone posted that rubber trees only spawn in jungles now. I am still trying to figure out how you grow the big rubber trees.
  7. Re: ۞ TekkitCraft ۞ [48 SLOTS PUBLIC] [Tekkit 2.0] [PvP/PvE] [Multiverse] [Towns] ++ I used to play on this server. I enjoyed most of the time I spent on it, that is until I found out that the Energy Collector MK1s were broken. I placed a source of light above them, and ensured that I was doing nothing wrong on my part. They would not gather any EMC at all. This was due to the EMC-per-tick ratio being reduced. Other users claimed it was for "balancing the game." In my opinion, I find this to be foolish. The modpack already balances the mods so that one mod's items don't become so overpowered that it ruins the enjoyment of the modpack as a whole. It would have been nice to know either on this forum post or on the official website for this server that the Energy Collector's tick rate was reduced. If I knew this, I wouldn't have wasted the time to gather the materials to make one. I know that the MK3 models of the Collectors work faster and that I can just use the Philosophizer's stone to get Dark Matter, but having the ability to generate passive Dark Matter via Energy Condenser x Energy Collector would have been nice. If anyone were to stumble upon a bunch of trees in a snowy mountain area with lava on top of it, that's where I used to reside. Feel free to use the old mines. Don't bother trying to salvage any of my old items though. I have taken the liberty of destroying them all, along with the Ten Diamonds, Six Rubber Trees, and Six Rubber Tree Saplings that I had. I had a good time, but just the fact of the over nerf-ing of the MK1 Energy Condensers and the disabling of other key EE features was a major disappointment for me. Goodbye TekkitCraft. - DJ91990
