  1. I mistakenly thought Chunk Loading blocks weren't working with teleport pipes as well, but searched these forums like mad and found my solution. The default power loss for Teleport pipes is set at .995 or something close in Tekkit 3.0.4. I changed this to 1 (equals no loss) and everything works perfectly. Changing this works for me, as I'm on an incredibly small server with a close friend. Not sure about larger servers. As far as other things working with chunk loading blocks, everything works for me. Plants grow, EMC collects, quarries...quarry and oil pumps.
  2. Ok thanks for pointing that out. I'm not exactly sure what was causing the issue, but for some reason the "old" recipes for Railcraft were showing up in NEI. What I didn't realize is that a few pages before these "obsolete" items, there is a whole new group of Railcraft tracks, with the new recipes. These are the correct recipes. It's possible this could be a texturepack issue, but I'm not sure. So if you're having this problem, be sure to check all the pages of NEI.
  3. Thanks. I've read these descriptions, but I'm a visual learner lol. I just wasn't sure if any members had pics of their own station or suggestions on how to get started. I’d like to see what other have put together. I can make a simple boarding station for people, but haven't made something that can handle both resource carts and people.
  4. Just started a Tekkit 3 server with a close friend and we've both been having an absolute blast. We've got a pretty extensive network of mining tunnels below our homes and would like to establish a rail network that leads through these tunnels. We'd like to do this via some type of rail station that serves as a resource drop off and people transport. The last time I built a rail station was waaaay back during the early days of beta when you had to make your own booster loops etc. I've only slightly dabbled in the more complicated tracks for railcraft. Anyone have any links/suggestions on how to setup a railcraft station? Something that can detect people and empty carts would be great.
  5. Delete please, I'm a bloody moron! ;)
  6. Title: Tekkit 3 + Railcraft (obsolete) items Version: 3.0.3/3.0.4 OS: Windows 7 64-bit Java Version: JRE 1.7u4 (Win 64bit) Description of Problem: Many of the railcraft tracks are showing up in NEI, but with the word "(obsolete)" after each. I've re-installed the server a few times with no change. Any suggestions? Error Messages: Error Log:
  7. Does this mean BuildCraft is going to be a problem moving forward since he's working on that as well? This kinda stinks...
  8. Pretty cool. That's a good amountnf power. I was thinking something similar out in the middle of the ocean would be fun.
  9. Gotcha, thanks. I was kind of hoping the mechanics would change over water, but oh well. I had no clue I could run glass fiber under water, this is awesome!
  10. So, I've yet to try the IC2 wind turbines. I kind of don't need them, but recently settled into a massive volcano in the middle of an ocean. I thought it would be neat to add a few wind turbine farms. Seems to fit the whole ocean thing. If nothing is near the wind turbines, do they still need to be very high for max output? And can glass fiber cable be run under water?
  11. Hmm, I actually changed that a while back after getting booted for using a jet pack. Anything else I should try? UPDATE: Ok, I think I'm all set now. I changed "flying" to false, reset server and then changed back to "true". It may have also been a power issue. My calculations may have been off, I suck at math. Thanks again.
  12. I can't seem to find an answer to this. I'm the admin for a small 4-man server and I keep getting kicked for "Moving to quickly". This happens when trying to use a teleporter back to where I had just teleported from. Is there something in permissions that needs to be edited? Thanks for the help.
  13. Not sure I've ever used them to go past 500 blocks or so. Is there a gap in your chunk loader blocks? I thought I read that the boundries need to be touching. If not, the items would be passing through dead space? Perhaps that could be the problem. I'm no expert though...
  14. I had hoped to try this out yesterday, but didn't get a chance. I'm not sure important it is, seems more hassle than its worth for such a small server.
  15. I've got a small server running for a few friends. I, unfortunately, can't access the server at work. Probably not a bad thing. My friends though have a much more lenient workplace and are able to jump on all the time. I recently discovered an app called Adminium, which gets pretty good reviews. It apparently allows you access to your Minecraft server via your iPhone. You can manage things as well as chat with those on. I was reading a bit more about the app and it requires JsonAPI to function. I have no clue what this is lol. Is this something that can function with the latest version of Tekkit? Before I purchase the app, has anyone here tried it?
  16. So, kind of funny, but a major pain in the arse. I was in the process of building a Forestry tree farm, when all of a sudden I heard that awful explosion sound. It was a big one too. I took a stroll over to where I've got our combustion engines running and everything was gone lol. They were buried under ground too and took out the glass roof above. They also carved out a nice crater. It turns out that at our pump station, I failed to connect two redstone engines. So two of the combustion engines were being cooled by a pump that was being powered by only 3 redstone engines, woops! Other than this minor setback, the system is running strong. 4 redstone engines seems to do the trick!
  17. I have to agree with the pipe tip. It's something I had honestly never considered. The highway analogy was perfect.
  18. Ok, here's a quick update: I gave up on the Forestry Electric Engines for now and moved to a 4 x redstone engine setup per pump. I've also added a "single" waterproof teleport pipe to each pump and each combustion engine. All pipes have been changed to gold waterproof. I let the system run for about 30 mins with zero issues. How's this look so far? Its a bit messy, but seems functional. I am still bummed about the "tin engines". I'll have to test a few things on my own. One good thing is that this now frees up my 2 solar flowers. Ty so much for the help!
  19. I have a feeling this is a bad answer... I'm cramming them all into one teleport pipe. The receiving waterproof teleport pipe then branches out to each of the combustion engines. I'm going to assume this is a bad idea? lol Should I be using five different waterproof teleport pipes, each on a different frequency?
  20. Kaspersky, my anti-virus, was hammering our server at first. It's much better now though. I know there is a way to set certain permissions, but I'm lazy and simply disable it *gasp* when the server is up.
  21. Just started a survival server for the first time last week. 1. i7920 OC's to 3.2, 6GBs RAM Windows 7 64-bit 2. Only 4 slots, with 3 on at a time. I've noticed no lag at all. 3. None (Playing with friends, so the only thing we aren't using is TMI) 4. None 5. I'm still learning pipes, but no series issues. Teleport pipes seem to work well. 6. No idea, but creepers are friggen dangerous! 7. None Hope this helps!
  22. @Demon By "tin engines" I mean the forestry mod electric engines. I saw this used once and it stuck. Our pumps started in our quarry, which was filled with water. This eventually completely dried up, it was pretty whacky. The pumps are sitting over a pretty deep river nearby now, powered by the 8 Forestry electric engines, which are in turn powered by the 2 solar flowers. I've never actually tried a 3x3 square. Is this just one block deep of water or deeper? This could solve our "running out of water" issue. @KakerMix Thanks for the explanation. One thing I know I certainly wasn't taking into consideration was the pipes. Yes, we're using all stone waterproof pipes. I'll have to get to crafting some better pipes, gold sounds like a very good idea. So 4 redstone engines per pump? This would certainly be a lot more energy efficient than our current setup. It would also free up the solar flowers. We've got 5 pumps now and 5 working combustion engines, so it could certainly work. I'll have to research a bit more concerning the Forestry electric engines. I too have no idea what the waterproof teleport properties are. I just know it works. And yes this make perfect sense, thanks. I'll give this all a shot once I get home. If possible, I'll post a few pics. I think I've got a better understanding now. I think I can enjoy some popcorn now, I feel like a moron haha.
  23. Yeah, my brain is zombified atm. I did it twice didn't I? Rules read, I think I have a better understanding now. If my question hasn’t been brought up before, then hopefully this will be a fruitful thread. Prior to using the tin engines, I was using an Energy Link, which I discovered causes massive energy drain.
  24. Gotcha! and Ty. I'll just step aside and hope for a discussion.
