  1. Plugins are written for a server, using the bukkit API (if you're writing it for a bukkit server that is) Mods are written (usually) for single player using the Minecraft API but alot of minecraft mods have been written with servers in mind. I believe Tekkit is just all those Mods (IC2, BC2, RedPower) linked together with some programming magic from the technic team, so you wouldn't write a Mod for Tekkit you would write a mod for minecraft. Finally you need the technic team to actually like it and want to put it in Tekkit, it's not like you can just drop your Mod into a folder and it'll suddenly work
  2. I'm sure i'm not the first person to notice that when using Tekkit, the towny, logblock and world guard plugins do not register any player placing a block on the floor. Obviously this causes many issues in that you cannot stop players from placing blocks in world guarded areas even though build is set to false (the same with towny), also with logblock no records are kept of anyone placing blocks so you don't know who has been screwing about with your house etc... I don't know if this can be fixed by the technic team (i would think you could easily do it or atleast know why the plugins don't work properly) but if you could, my question is will you? Also, industrial craft dynamite/mining lasers/industrial tnt/nukes also override world guard and towny explosion flags/permissions but that is probably something i should take up with the guy that makes indsutrial craft. thanks for your time

WE is up to date, i saw on a different thread (pretty much the same topic), one post said that tekkit registers block placement differently that your standard minecraft server does so WG and towny don't know you're placing a block... therefore it doesn't stop you from placing it. I don't know if that's true or if i'm just talking out of my ass. Also i set the spawn radius to 200 in an attempt to stop non-OP player from building in the spawn since WG didn't do anything. It worked for a while but suddenly ceased to be of any use and all players could build in the spawn area again.
  4. try using the linux jar file download. I know people that couldn't play it using the windows exe
  5. for some unknown reason, even with permissions set up any player can build in world guarded and townied areas. i don't know whether i have written the permissions wrong or if it's something to do with tekkit. i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and if so, how they fixed it.

  7. wasn't entire sure what this post meant http://www.technicpack.net/489/ does it mean you've fixed the tekkit server or you are back on track on your way to fixing it O.o sorry if it's a dumb question
  8. i tried adding RedPower, Industrialcraft, Buildcraft... etc into the users section and gave them a specific rank like the file you posted said but it hasn't fixed the issue. Buildcraft mining wells and quarries cannot destroy anything (i am powering them correctly). Other internet posts say that TMI quarries won't work and you must craft them properly with non TMI materials. So i spawned them in with creative but that still didn't solve the problem
  9. i'm not talking about SMP, i'm talking about SSP. Why can't i still play on SSP tekkit if it's only the server file that's broken
  10. Until yesterday i was playing single player on Tekkit, but today when i run the launcher i can only select either technic or vanilla. Is this because of the block ID issue that i'm not able to choose Tekkit, if so once Tekkit is fixed will i still be able to play on the world save i had been using or will it be corrupt (or just screwed up because of the block IDs)
