PC-2011 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I have recently acquired about 10 old desktops that have 4gb of ram, Pentium 4 and 500gb hard drive. My thoughts where to build a one server with one world each because the Ethernet drivers do not support Linux. So I'm stuck with windows. When I installed tekkit with cauldron an error occurs when it trys to load Galacticraft it flails I wanted to delete but is still trys to load the files. Error is below. 2014-11-22 20:51:51 [INFO] [ForgeModLoader] Launching wrapped minecraft {net.min ecraft.server.MinecraftServer} Galacticraft successfully injected bytecode into: ss (2 / 2) 2014-11-22 20:51:55 [SEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] Unable to launch java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.launch(Launch.java:131) at net.minecraft.launchwrapper.Launch.main(Launch.java:27) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source) at cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.ServerLaunchWrapper.run(ServerLaunchWrapper.j ava:43) at cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.ServerLaunchWrapper.main(ServerLaunchWrapper. java:12) Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.fuseso urce.jansi.internal.Kernel32 at org.fusesource.jansi.internal.WindowsSupport.getConsoleMode(WindowsSu pport.java:50) at jline.WindowsTerminal.getConsoleMode(WindowsTerminal.java:176) at jline.WindowsTerminal.init(WindowsTerminal.java:80) at jline.TerminalFactory.create(TerminalFactory.java:93) at jline.TerminalFactory.get(TerminalFactory.java:151) at jline.console.ConsoleReader.<init>(ConsoleReader.java:140) at jline.console.ConsoleReader.<init>(ConsoleReader.java:126) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.<init>(MinecraftServer.java:274) at net.minecraft.server.dedicated.DedicatedServer.<init>(DedicatedServer .java:68) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.main(MinecraftServer.java:1716) ... 12 more C:UsersAdminDesktopTekkit_Server>pause Quote
disconsented Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Considering how these machines run XP you are wasting your time Quote
PC-2011 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 well yes this is probably a stupid idea but I'm looking for something to do with these pcs. And clusters require Linux and they don't have drivers for that os. Any fun ideas to put on these machines to work. Quote
disconsented Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Obtain network adapters that work for your Nix distro of choice Quote
PC-2011 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 OK this conversation is shifting out of the form but I will continue anyway. I got these computers for free don't plan to put any money into these just wanted to play around with them and maybe create something useful. I don't need anything so there for I don't know where to start on building something cool and also have only taken a computer science class in high school so not a computer engineer or something. Any fun ideas? Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted November 23, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted November 23, 2014 Just because I'm curious, what is the chipset of the ethernet device? Linux has such comprehensive support for NICs, especially from older hardware I would be truly surprised if there wasn't support. As for your issue, I don't see anything in the error report indicating which version of Java you are running. Which might that be? Which specific CPU ("Pentium 4" is a mighty broad umbrella) is in the boxes? I can think of no reason why a base Tekkit server shouldn't at least start on your platform (no comments yet on performance). Quote
PC-2011 Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Well the nic is broadcom Ethernet 5777 the only driver I could find is for windows and it came on a disk. Next I added the cauldron files to tekkit server so I could get bukkit functionality. There all 32 bit windows with 32 bit java. Quote
