When ever I try to open up any of my modpacks it says "error downloading a file for the following pack (in another line it says) please consult with the modpack author" this shows up for every mod pack I try to open. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like an antivirus/firewall problem to me.  Either said security software needs to be disabled, or some kind of exception/allowance for the launcher needs to be added.  Beyond that, go to the Tracker for help with stuff like this.

I took down the firewall and then tried to run a modpack but the same thing showed up. Can you think of anything else that might work?

I tried downloading it again but this time I opened up the console and this is what it says (I only copied from the part where there was an error and down):

[b#211] File version.json not found in C:UsersFamilyAppDataRoaming.technicmodpackstekkitbinmodpack.jar
[b#211] Starting download of http://mirror.technicpack.net/Technic/version/1.2.5/1.2.5.json, with 3 tries remaining
[b#211] Expected MD5: 8e8778078a175a33603a585257f28563 Calculated MD5: 8e8778078a175a33603a585257f28563

I'm not sure if that will help or not, but hopefully it will.

That's not our asset, that's mojang's asset. It's a common one, actually- because it has "ad" in the name, some security software believes that it is some shady adware and blocks it. Torezu was correct.
