Teknaut
I've been running a tekkit server and today was working on a space station. I removed most of the original tin decoration blocks because they're ugly was replacing them, except for that one unremovable block that the space station centers around. I built up a couple blocks higher than that thing and did a test run to see what would happen if I took a rocket up to the station. I ended up right above that anchor block inside of a wall, and when I moved the client crashed. Now I can't log back in, every time I try the client crashes again. So what do I do to fix this? And can you change the point you spawn at on the station? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
Curunir
You should be able to change or reset your position using an NBT editor like this one. It might also be a good idea to remove the problematic blocks from the world save using MCEdit (which might also spare you the use of the NBT editor). Generally, you should not brick up your spawn point in any dimension. Edited February 28, 2015 by Curunir
Teknaut
Ok I tried to just use a backup restore point, but it doesn't seem to fix the problem. Thus I probably will have to use MC edit...however I have no clue what I'm doing. I have MCedit installed, but it only has Minecraft 1.8 and 1.8.1 as resource packs. I need to add tekkit to it, but not sure how to accomplish that. I also need to know how to actually open the file in MCedit. I've used an FTP client to download the space station's file onto my computer so I can edit it (assuming that's the proper way to do it). I've been looking for a basic tutorial for MCedit but theyr'e all very vague and not very helpful... Edited February 28, 2015 by Teknaut
Curunir
Well, I can't help you much there. I have only used MCEdit twice, and fought with the interface and basic concepts both times. You need to load the world save, then switch to the dimension you need to edit, locate the blocks, mark them and delete them. Sounds not too hard, but I found the interface to be a train wreck. Good luck finding a useful tutorial - I could not find any. If your Space Station dimension is mostly empty anyway, you could also try to delete the entire dimension and hope the default one is generated again. However, not sure if this will work, and do make a backup before you try radical solutions like that. Edited February 28, 2015 by Curunir
Teknaut
HA! Well I'd considered doing exactly that (deleting and hoping it'd default back), But I'd lacked the courage to actually try it. After you mentioned it, i decided I'd give it a try. It worked *phew*. Thank goodness. What a cluster... So does anyone know how the spawning system works in the space stations? There's that weird blue block and then an invisible block right above it that seems to anchor your spawning. Any way to move that? It's so ugly and not how I want my enterence to look...but maybe I'll just have to suck it up.
Torezu
To the best of my knowledge, it isn't possible or recommended to move or block the spawn block in a space station. I think you're just going to have to live with it.
