Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I have stumbeled upon a colossus from factorization. What is this thing and why does the game crash when you destroy its core? Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 2, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 2, 2015 What does the crash report look like? (in a pastebin service, not directly in the thread here) Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 2, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 2, 2015 Assuming that is your own custom modpack, there are many mods that are out of date and/or mismatched. Updating those would be the first place to start. if it still crashes after everything is up to date you will likely need to take this to the Factorization thread on MCF. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Ah that is od, i litteraly downloaded these mods like last week, and i downloaded latest versions :/ Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 2, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 2, 2015 The version of Mekanism you are using was released on November 15, 2014. The most recent build came out yesterday. The version of CoFHCore you are using came out on December 13, 2014. The current release came out about a week ago. The version of Biomes O' Plenty you are using came out on November 23, 2014. The current release came out on February 10, 2015. The list would go on for a while. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Aha, i thaught that i had downloaded the latest ones :/ Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 When i updated some mods i got this: http://pastebin.com/YZvqrQvv Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 2, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 2, 2015 Looks like you maybe got a 1.8 version of one of the mods you updated. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 None of the mods i added says they are 1.8... I can't seem to find it Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 2, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 2, 2015 We'll need the API URL (as usual) in order to proceed. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Oh right, Sorry Here: http://api.technicpack.net/modpack/freddy-pack1 Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 2, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 2, 2015 I know I've mentioned this before, but you are updating your modpack archive but not the pack version number. This is bad and will cause problems for anyone using your pack. Always update/increment the pack version number when you change your modpack archive. Every time. No exceptions. Your pack has two different versions of AE2, Biomes O' Plenty, BuildCraft, CoFHCore, Extra Utilities, Mekanism, and Thermal Expansion. You are still using mods with odd names. The implication (as I mentioned before) is that you aren't getting them directly from the authors. This will result in you using out of date or mismatched mods. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 What do you mean by "mods with odd names"? Quote
Rogdash Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 I have tried to change modpack version but i can't seem to download a later version. This modpack drives me crazy :S Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 3, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 Mods with odd names: For instance, you have the Hats mod which is named "Hats-Mod-1.7.10.jar" (and if you look inside the mod JAR it is an old version). The author provides that mod with the version number in the name "Hats-4.0.1.jar". You are either renaming the mods (bad, but unlikely) or you aren't getting the mods from the authors (very bad). Any time you change the modpack archive simply increment the pack version number on the settings page. It appears as though you have done this as the version number is now 1.1, but the pack archive itself hasn't changed. Just make sure you increment it every time you change the pack. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Okey, i am so bad at all of this. I know one sollution that would save time for both me and you. And that is that you make the modpack map and the server map. Then everything is solved Because i don't know how to increment the pack or nothing like that :/ Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 3, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 I can assure you that would not save any time for me. CharZinta 1 Quote
Rogdash Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Then you wouldn't have to answer my silly questions Quote
Rogdash Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 But why doesn't my update of the modpack version work? Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 3, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 What have you changed? I noticed that you did increment the pack version number from 1.0 to 1.1. However, the contents did not change so all of my previous comments still stand. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Now i have removed the hats mod but it still won't open up the game. This is how my console looks like: http://pastebin.com/nCGGagBC I can't understand what is wrong. Quote
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted March 3, 2015 Discord Moderator Posted March 3, 2015 You have incremented the pack version number but not changed the modpack archive. I cannot diagnose something I cannot examine. Quote
Rogdash Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 When i look into my mod folder in the place where the mod is being placed i see that you are correct! It is placing duplicates there of some mods. Why is it doing that? in the mod that i posted on the internet there is only one copy of the mod. Quote
