Mod select button not working

Description of Problem:

The mod select button is constantly grayed-out. Have tried redownloading Technic Launcher and modpack multiple times to no success. Have also tried the "open with" method in the FAQ, didn't work. My AV is turned off atm.

while I'm not sure of the cause of this particular error, I can tell you how to work around it. go into your .techniclauncher folder, then into technicssp\config and find "modloader.cfg". open that file with notepad or similar and you will find a list of mod names with "=on" at the end. change the "on" to "off" for the mods you don't want to use.

all that button does normally is open this file in a text editor anyway, so this is just as good.

ooooh, you're on the dev version. that explains it. it doesn't use modloader, it uses forge mod loader. I'm not even sure it's possible to enable/disable mods with FML like that.

first of all, the dev versions are unsupported, so this is the kind of shit you should be expecting

second of all, remove the .zip for the mod from the mods folder.

I had this problem, don't know if yours is fixed now but how I fixed mine:

Open up the launcher and go to Options, then manually set the build to the latest or any other than the recommended which I am assuming you are using. Let that one load up, or crash, either works. After it has loaded/crashed, go back to the launcher and set it back to the recommended build. That should extract some of the mod files in a quick update and then you should be fine.

tl;dr Change your build, log-in, change your build back, log-in.

Note: I just messed around with stuff trying to solve this and this worked for me. No guarantees but if you have the same issue as me, that fixed it! ^^

I think I have the same problem. The mod select button ids greyed out and I can't click it. Any sugestions?

if you want to remove certain mods from a pack, you can still do it it's just not as simple. all you have to do is go into the modpack's mods folder and remove the zip or jar file(s) for the mod(s) you wish to disable.
