Title: Quarry won't start

Version: 3.0.3/3.0.4

OS: Windows 7

Java Version: jre7

Description of Problem:

I followed a tutorial on YouTube about how to make a quarry. I did so using a wind turbine to a bat box and from the batbox to the quarry using copper wires (also tried gold) then glass fibre cable to the combustion engines on each side of it and levers but no matter what I seem to try it wont work. I tried different engines and the only one that seemed to do something was the redstone but all it did was make the engines move, the quarry did nothing. I also tried powering with a generator but that hasnt worked either.

I think I posted the right version of the server. It was the most recent one...

It won't work because combustion engines will want fuel to work (Refined oil). What you're looking for is electrical engines, they can work with electricity. Also, if you're only using one turbine, it probably can't produce enough power to make the engines work, those are quite consuming. You will probably want a bunch of turbines, and maybe also solar panels and arrays, if you want the quarry to work properly.

Well I have four wind turbines going into a batbox and it is full. I just tried placing fuel and water into the combustion engines and they started moving but the quarry still isn't working. I can't find an electrical engine anywhere in the item pages...

This is what you're searching. I am using some myself.

Oh wait, I am sorry, this seems to be only in Technic. I think there is an item that can do what you want, wait a minute.

Still nothing :( I even checked the link and did what it said about wood conductive then stone conductive to the engines... having no luck at all with this lol

scaled.php?server=832&filename=quarryr.pThis is what it looked like at first....scaled.php?server=18&filename=quarry2.pnThis is what it looks like now and still not working.

You have to connect the pipes to the quarry. Directly, not to the engines.

Oh, ok. I will try that then. In all the turotials I watched they did it as seen in the first picture so that is why I was so confused. Gonna get my sever up now and check then.

It still isn't working even though I powered right to the quarry. I even tried adding more windmills... the only eason the engines are moving at all is because they have fuel in them, but the wuarry still isn't doing anything.

You will need two Energy Links, these convert the power to work with the quarry instead of electrical engines, place one on either side of the quarry and then attach a pipe to the top of the quarry and you should be up and running.

That's how I'm running things and it's going fine now, seems in the latest versions without forestry we lost the electrical engines so need to now use Energy Link :)

I still don't understand this at all. Tried placing the Energy Links beside the quarry instead of the combustion engines and directing the energy to the quarry but no luck. There needs to be a better tutorial for this... every tutorial I have seen does not work for me. Server is up if anyone just wants to log on and show me instead lol XD

You have to put the power direct into the Energy Links, If your still having some problems when i finish work i'll be able to log in and lend a hand (about 2 hours from now).

It's probably easier to see how things are setup in person than trying to explain it :)

I am using whatever the default plugins are for the Tekkit Server. I haven't disabled anything, or even changed anything (mostly because I don't know how, lol)

Problems has been solved thanks to Elbulus. Needed to give permissions to buildcraft, lol. It was as easy as /op [buildCraft].
