After installing Tekkit, whenever I try to connect to a multiplayer server, under Tekkit (or Hack/Mine) java.exe opens a connection to 207.171.187.117 (amazon.com) on port 80, and uses up all of my bandwidth (42KB/s). The multiplayer connection fails because there is no bandwidth, and the bandwidth usage continues even when I return to the title screen. I've been monitoring this for about 30 minutes now and the bandwidth usage still hasn't stopped.
This never happened until I installed Tekkit. What's going on here? Is this some kind of spyware?
