Beer Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Well, you create it and password protect your virtual LAN and it's as safe as the password you use and the people you entrust with that password. The most secure things are worthless if you post the password on twitter. Quote
TheSandwichMakr Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 is hamach safe tho? Not as safe as port forwarding but the best you can do if you don't fully understand port forwarding Quote

Beer Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Have you seen someone post a password on twitter before? lol No. Much, much, worse than a password. https://twitter.com/#!/needadebitcard Actually now that I think about it, yes, but not over twitter... over IRC back in the day before IM's and social networks. Beer Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Which is exactly my point. Hamachi can be as secure as you need it to be, unless you start inviting randoms to your network to join your minecraft server. It only takes one guy to decide to share your network password to really screw things up. Hell, I'd make the network private, give it a password, and only share the name and password of it with only the people who are participants. That way only the people you want to find the network will find it. Quote
crasher925 Posted July 11, 2012 Author Posted July 11, 2012 ill still having the connection timed out problem and im using hamachi! Quote
Beer Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Your host doesn't have the ports forwarded and you're running into his router like a head to a brick wall. Quote

Beer Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 He still needs to tell his router to let your minecraft access his minecraft. Hamachi is just another way to connect, but your connection still needs to be able to have access to his computer. If he doesn't have the appropriate ports forwarded for minecraft to talk/listen, you're going to go nowhere fast. It's not you, it's him. Quote

Beer Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 It's something he can google. If you guys can't figure out Port Forwarding, you really shouldn't be setting up any server. Quote
