Friend can't join server

Well, you create it and password protect your virtual LAN and it's as safe as the password you use and the people you entrust with that password. The most secure things are worthless if you post the password on twitter.

Which is exactly my point. Hamachi can be as secure as you need it to be, unless you start inviting randoms to your network to join your minecraft server. It only takes one guy to decide to share your network password to really screw things up. Hell, I'd make the network private, give it a password, and only share the name and password of it with only the people who are participants. That way only the people you want to find the network will find it.

He still needs to tell his router to let your minecraft access his minecraft. Hamachi is just another way to connect, but your connection still needs to be able to have access to his computer. If he doesn't have the appropriate ports forwarded for minecraft to talk/listen, you're going to go nowhere fast.

He still needs to tell his router to let your minecraft access his minecraft. Hamachi is just another way to connect, but your connection still needs to be able to have access to his computer. If he doesn't have the appropriate ports forwarded for minecraft to talk/listen, you're going to go nowhere fast.
