is it possible to make a technic (not tekkit) server? if it is, please instruct how.

if not, will they be developing a technic server, and if so, when?

i realy like technic, tekkit is just too bland now that i've seen technic.

i've heard that some of the technic mods arnt compatible with MP, why is this? surly theres some godly coder out there who can figure it out...

The whole point of having Tekkit is a MP version of Technic. Tekkit is as near as it possibly can be to Technic, so, not happening, sorry.

SSP only mods are the reason why there is no SMP version. It isn't a matter of 'figuring it out' its more like 'built against the SSP version of Minecraft' because right now the single player version and multiplayer versions of Minecraft are very, very different.

well wholy shit bud, didnt mean to piss in your cheerios by asking a simple question. do you take pride in your ability to be as big an ass hole to new members as is possible?

thanks kaker, makes a bit more sence, thought ssp and smp where similar in every aspect. if i knew how to mod for mc i'd try to to modify the mods so they worked, but i dont so i wont criticize other peoples awsone work with tekkit. i just realy like the weapons mod and creatures mod in technic. also, seems i find alot more ores in technic then i do in tekkit, which is rather nice.

I'm sorry if I sounded as offensive as I apparently was. I simply answered your question at the best of my knowledge. Didn't mean to be "A big arsehole to a new member". It's an ability I didn't have knowledge I had.

I am trying to set up a Tekkit server. In server.properties i have my local ip address, and that is what I enter when joining my server. Anyone connected to my BT Homehub, on the same router as me can join the server. My friends can't even when i give them my public ip address. I'm using the port 25565; whenever I try to use my public ip I have a port bind error. I have a BT Homehub, and I'm not sure how to port forward through Minecraft with it. I don't know if this is the problem, but when I go onto the Homehub menu after entering my ip, which is apparently 192.168.1.254, (but I've also been given information that my ethernet ip is 192.168.1.68, and my wireless 192.168.1.72), I go onto Application Sharing under Advanced, I am confronted with a confusing set of text entry boxes; port range (I've put 25565-25565), Translate to (left blank automatically filled in as 25565-25565), trigger protocol (left blank came up as any) and trigger port (I put 25565).
