i have no technic launcher .jar file

Launcher Version: a 3.0.3 i think the newest one

Operating System: pc and it is a peace of crap

Java Version: i just downloaded new one i am fine

Description of Problem:

i used to have java directory problem but i fixed that now when i press technic launcher it opens up and then closes fast and nothing happens i cant find technic launcher .jar in my .techniclauncher file only technic-launcher and i cant open it with java the only two options are open with ventrilo or winrar. i looked on the common problems and it got me to technicpack.net but i does not say what i should download please help.

I assume you actually have Java installed? You should have the right-click open with Java option if it's actually on your computer. If you downloaded the .jar with Internet Explorer, go get it with a browser that doesn't mess with your file extensions.

ok well i found my .jar but i still cant open it with java it says open with ventrilo or winrar and i can click other and i click browse and then i have a java folder then when i click on that i can click bin or lib and then from there i can click on a lot of other ones

and yes i have java when i go to change or uninstall i have java 7 update 2 (64-bit) and Java 7 update 5 and i also have JavaFX 2.1.1 are any of those the ones i need

Remove both of those and add Java 7u5 64-bit. When you do the default install for Java 7, it tries to install 32-bit for some reason, and it appears to have succeeded with yours. The JavaFX is irrelevant.

what do i do now cuz all i can open it with is java web start launcher and that does not work

Try running it with a batch file. If you're not sure how to make one, download the server software, pull the launch.bat from there and stick it in your .techniclauncher folder, and change the file name in it to the correct one for the launcher.

ok i put the launch.bat in the folder but what do u mean change the file name like change the new launch to technic-launcher

Edit the .bat with notepad or another text editor and change the name inside to that of the technic launcher .jar.

when i click on launcher is says unable to access jarfile tekkit.jar press any key to continue and then i press something it goes away and nothing happens

Upload the image to something like imgur.com and then put the link to it in img tags.

You need to edit the batch file to change the tekkit.jar inside it to whatever the name of the launcher is, probably technic-launcher-latest.jar or something like that.

I tried to write out the image tag but forgot that even if you don't include the /img part of it it'll auto-finish it.

so what do i do now right click launcher and rename it to like technic-launcher.jar

Right-click launcher. Click Edit. You should be able to edit it with Notepad. Change the "tekkit.jar" inside the batch file to "technic-launcher.jar".

Remove the -Xmx and -Xms parts of the batch file (edit it again).

ok and just one last thing is there anything i can do to reduce lag cuz i have a bad laptop and i was just wondering if i could take out like any useless mods or anything
