Title: Unable to connect to a tekkit 3.1.1 server

Version: 3.0.3/3.0.4

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64)

Java Version: 1.7.0_04 (64)

Description of Problem:

NOTE: Though 3.0.3/3.0.4 is selected, I am using a 3.1.1 server and launcher.

Me and my friend are unable to connect to my tekkit 3.1.1 server. This is not an internet problem, as both of us are getting the same error messages (the server kicks us out).

I have searched for this problem on the internet by using the error message and multiple forum posts came up, but none of them helped.

Error Messages:

Disconnected by server:

When using Tekkit 3.1.1 -The server requires you to have Minecraft Forge installed. http://Minecraft Forge.net/

When using Tekkit 3.0.3 (updated) -Must have Forge build #136+ (4096 fix) to connect to this server

Wehn using Tekkit 3.1.1 (not updated) -The server requires you to have Minecraft Forge installed. http://Minecraft Forge.net/

Also, Tekkit will not let me backup when I try select update in the update dialog box that comes up when I try to run 3.1.1 tekkit. This is happening to my friend also.

If someone could give me a link to a 3.0.4 server, that should also fix my problem.

i am getting error message-Must have Forge build #136+ (4096 fix) to connect to this server my friend says its a forge glitch but i do not know how to fix it im sorry

Found this in another post about this problem, you have to change your tekkit mod pack build to "3.1.1 / 1.2.5" on the technic launcher under options, and then you are able to connect to a server :)

On the Technic Launcher choose Options, select "Manual Build Selection", then choose "3.1.1 | 1.2.5 | Latest" from the drop-down menu. Once that's done login and try to join a 3.1.1 server.

If you have already done all of the steps above, I would recommend to delete your tekkit folder entirely (make sure you backup your worlds) and restart the Technic Launcher.

The problem i was having is that it was taking a while to update, and i think it said it failed a couple times, after i just let it sit once while it was updating, it worked. Thanks for the help

Now that i have changed to 3.1.1 all my modes are gone. I did already to into NEI.cfg and change lock to true. now what can i do please help thanks side TEKKIT ROCKS!!!!!

I am also having this problem, and all people have suggested amounts to, "You're too stupid. Just manually select the build.". Let us assume that I and the OP are not stupid, and that we have already tried most if not all solutions and determined that it is in fact an issue with Tekkit 3.1.1. Could someone please help?

This means your update failed and you need to remove the directory and select 3.1.1 again and let it download it.

When you start your game and it doesn't say Minecraft Forge 3.3.8... in the bottom left corner along with FML v2.2.106.176 it means you aren't running the proper version.

Correction: Let us assume that I am stupid, seeing as I had a LAN error, which had nothing to do with Tekkit.

You could select "Use Dev Build" but this is usually not the best option.
