Tekkitt not using PermissionsEx?

Trying to get the server to use PermissionsEx, and none are taking effect, yet logs show it as being enabled. Formatting and syntax of config.yml are confirmed to work ok on regular CB server, yet Tekkitt won't use them. Gives errors when trying to add in security pluggins like Alerter or Residence, that it cannot pass events to it, and can't even use Console chat.

Guys on the bukkitt forums can't seem to figure out why they're not being used.

Any ideas here? My guys are getting really pissed that nothing seems to be working with the perms.

Our perms work just fine, and we use PermsEX, let me take a look at your perms...Ill let you know.
