Technic launcher starts i login then it says failed to update

Operating System: mac os x 10.5.8

Java Version: latest for mac

Antivirus Program: none

Description of Problem:

I open technic launcher I login it does all he stuff then when it reaches 100% it says update failed please help

I'm also having this problem. I just downloaded the launcher and nothing is working, not even vanilla. Every time I try to login the launcher has to download stuff and update, but it always fails. Can't play anything.

Description:

Same(ish) problem as above. The launcher tries several times to download minecraft.jar then says "update failed." Is this because of the 1.3 update?
