Hey there. I've been using Caspertheghost's tekkit mac launcher for a while, and i understand there's a new Tekkit version out that I'd like to upgrade to.

I tried searching for him, his posts, anything related to the Tekkit launcher and it all appears to be deleted/locked off. So, I can only assume he's given up on it (?).

I downloaded the updated files, and tried replacing them directly in my 'Tekkit Server' folder on my mac, then launched the auto-opener, but said it cannot access the Tekkit.Jar.

So, Im a bit stuck.

Any ideas? (btw, I backed up my server, so have resorted to simply running the older version).

ok, for one... who is

Caspertheghost
and two to solve the problem with cannot access Tekkit.jar, just go into Application Support and tekkit and run tekkit.jar (now im not entirely sure if thats the directory, because i'm on windows, not mac, but i've used one before)

For one, Caspertheghost is someone who developed an easy to use launcher for running tekkit on a Mac. If you don't know who he is, or what his tool does I've really no idea why you're in this thread.

For two, thanks for your support but if you've not got a mac then please be aware they're completely different beasts. the way you (and I) do things on our Windows Machines is completely different to that on a Mac.

For three, Caspertheghost replied to me in a PM and said he 'may' start working on his tool again in the near future --- I sure hope so.

i never said they aren't powerful computers... in fact i am an apple fan. I love apple stuff... but you do gotta realize that macs are no more than overpriced PC's running Apples version of Linux

Why are you posting your dribble here? You've got nothing to contribute at all. (PS No one cares what you think about mac/apple).

but being a DJ, most DJ use mac laptops w/ serato b/c they are less likely to crash during a performance (most dj's dont know how to properly set up a computer for stability, and macs a very stable for this) yeah they can get a little exp. but when you are using them for something like I do, its worth it, been using apple/macs for over 20 years myself, first computer was an apple IIgs, meaning im not a "OMG, MaCs ArE AwSomE B/c ThEy ArE SOOOOOOOOO StYlEiSh AnD All ThE CoOOl pEEps UsE ThEm!!!!11!!11!!" type person

I'm not familiar with the Mac Launcher you're referring to, but I can tell you exactly how to fix your problem with the technic launcher on a Mac instead of having to wait for your original launcher to update.

Go here file://Users/usernamehere/Library/Application Support/techniclauncer and make a shortcut to the techniclauncher file in that directory on your desktop. Then you just launch from that. I had the exact same problem on my Macbook Pro with the technic launcher.

Im not just trying to run the technic launcher, im trying to host a public tekkit server on the mac too :)

All you're doing is running a Bukkit server with a different .jar - if you can do that with Java on a PC, you can do it on a Mac just as easily as far as I know.

I was using this launcher as well to run my tekkit server but have searched around and found nothing. Otherwise you could just downgrade to the old tekkit so you can access your server.

Cool, For other mac users:

1. Use outdated server app to create an outdated server.

2. Download new server files.

3. Copy the new Tekkit.jar and the mod folder into the outdated server folder and replace the old ones.

4. Start the server again, with the server app, it should work fine.

Good luck
