BUT...... when I start up the .jar file that also comes with the pack, it runs fine but with no command prompt opening up. What I want to know is if there is anyone who can help me set up a server with command prompt or if the .jar launcher is fine to use (the java file is the equivalent of the .craftbukkit file on a regular server, on ordinary minecraft the .jar. the name of the .jar is called Tekkit)

Why create two threads for the same issue? The 1st one you started here:

http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/server-running-properly.20018/

Was just fine.

dragonseth07 is being helpful. He's trying to educate you in how to properly not annoy the piss out of people on the forums so someone will actually take the time to help you with your actual error.

And yes, error = bug. From now on, post your errors related to Tekkit in the bug section.

I had the same error last night when trying to run my server from my local machine for testing. -snip- Do what Torezu suggested below...

1. Do NOT spam threads. You already had a thread about this. There is no reason to make another.

2. Post this in the bug forum.

This is borderline backseat modding. Make suggestions all you want, but leave the commands to the mods please.

Why post if it is not helpful and it is not a bug because its an error!

He was saying not to post it twice, which is good advice. Bugs, errors, whatever, all go in the Bug Boards. It's just a name. Also, use the search bar next time for the netherOres error - I see 1-2 of these a day, I'd guess.
