PsyberTech Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Oh boy... Interesting problem with two or three of my customers who run Tekkit. Some have worlds from older versions and some are brand new. Both are running Multiverse, PermissionsEX, Essentials, Grief Prevention and LogBlock on a dedicated local MySQL server that they are running Tekkit from. On the same servers which these customers are having problems with their Tekkit servers are other customers running the current versions with no lag, memory issues or problems at all. I have even set up another test server on the same host server with another port and Tekkit runs perfectly. One of the servers ran perfect for a month, then suddenly it was using 100% of it's slice of the CPU and was trying to access even more than the 8GB it was set up for. Another I set up with the latest version, they uploaded their world and plugins and it lagged out and crashed from the get go. Is there something I can do as a Tekkit Host provider to help these people resolve their issues? I can fix Bukkit issues with a snap of my fingers, but I am still a bit lost with helping my customers with Tekkit issues. Know that I am now reading everything I can find on these forums about everything Tekkit, but any helpful hints to assist with some really cool Tekkit Communities would be fantastic. Even if it is pointing to a link and says "GO READ THIS! --->", know that I would again be most grateful. greedseed Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Yet again this is op for op and not promto my server. So please edit the post in stead of using this cheap ass oppertunity to just go promoting again and dont sign you posts ....! Quote
Diabloz Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 its really easy to increase the load on tekkit servers, especially ones where admins are clueless about what are the cause of lag on some servers, with my knowledge i could literally go out and take down half the servers out there or render them unplayable. Its your job as an Admin/Owner to prevent this and do your own research. Quote
neo130288 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 i find as a host my self a plugin called no lag helps also if people have things like "disco floors" have them turn it off they seam to cause lag spikes Quote
