Can't get the launcher to work! Trying for months now and I can't get it to work.

Question

Launcher Version: Latest

Operating System: Windows Xp 32 bit

Java Version: 7u5

Antivirus Program: Avast

Description of Problem:

I can't seem to get this to work no matter what I do! I've tried with java se binary, and it doesn't work, I've used all these other programs and it doesn't work, I've been posting months, and I can't get it to just open! I'd like to know if there are any other programs that I can open it up with. I also would like to know if it has the same requirements as spoutcraft, just incase I'm not doing something right. Thanks, I'd be very grateful if I can get this fixed.

Error Messages:

None really.

Error Log:

Can't find it, somewhere hidden or something.

Yea I've tried all this, i've tried to open it with the .jar, something comes up asking me to choose the program, I try Java SE Binary, and nothing happens, I try and 7-zip and I can't find the programs, It's almost impossible to figure it out.

Go ahead and redownload the newest java and install it and see if that helps , windows should know the default program to open .jar files is Java .

On another point what else is in the list when it asked you what program to use, if you have multiple instances of java on your computer , uninstall all of them and do my suggestion above and see if that helps it work.
