NEI Greys out items normal?

I'm not sure what I've done, but before, I would type in an item in Not Enough Items and it wouldn't grey/black out every item in my inventory. Now, when I type an item, it does exactly that. What I've notice though, is that the search is now outlined gold. Is this normal? Can I change it back so that it doesn't grey out the items?

I don't know if it's supposed to, but it does the same thing for me.
